Chapter 3 A Bully's Karma

  • Noctis scanned the lobby.
  • There are a lot of players from various races scattered all over the waiting area. Each of them was busy minding their own business.
  • He noticed that he didn't have any potions to replenish his hp, elixirs to refill his mana, and All-cure Panacea that heals all status effects.
  • All he has, for now, are his God-class weapons, a mysterious dark dragon badge that made the others wary when approaching him, and an unlimited amount of money and gemstones.
  • This dragon badge must be a symbol of high status.
  • In short, a symbol of nobility. His garments also made him stand out, as he perfectly resembled his deceased older brother in the game.
  • He looked at the whole Lobby again.
  • It's his good luck to spot shops that cater to players.
  • He walked straight to the shops, mingled with the other players, and took a quick look at the wares offered.
  • Meh. Those sold in the VIP section in the lobby have better quality.
  • He bought some sashimi and ramen instead.
  • Noctis made a mental note to check out the VIP section of the Lobby, and check out the Dark Market, which can only be found in the VIP section.
  • Items bought at the dark market are said to be the most powerful boosters a player could have, as they are created by the Game Administrators themselves under the approval of the Game Creator. Only players with badges of nobility had access to the Dark Market.
  • His badge caused a stir of murmurs and secret discussion between ordinary players who could only gawk in awe.
  • Then he prepared to head for a nearby table to eat, rest, and check the new notifications that appeared on the screen.
  • On an adjacent table, Takara Erich had a hard time dealing with other members of her Guild, who obviously bullied her.
  • They've been bullying her ever since she first joined the Strafers Guild.
  • She wished she could just simply leave the guild and do things solo, but she had no choice.
  • Doing things Guild-less from start to end of the game was a luxury only players with Nobility Badges could afford.
  • And her in-game stats also aren’t high. It is only average at best.
  • She sighed.
  • She'd have to endure yet another round of taunting, offensive jokes, and even getting kicked, lifted to the air, and thrown to the floor.
  • But today she found herself receiving the worst bullying she always dreaded: Bullying from the Guild Master himself.
  • The Guild Master is a big, muscular, and brutish Warrior class player who could pass for a tank, Joe Franco.
  • Joe Franco bullied and murdered his way to be a Guild Master of the Scraper Guild.
  • It is at best a second-rate Guild that isn't even worthy enough to attract the attention of players with Nobility badges.
  • He is a Warrior class player who went berserk in battle with his very sharp two-handed battle-ax.
  • He is a proud and vain man who acted like he's elite although he doesn't even have any Nobility Badge.
  • And he loved to bully and pick on players who were weaker than him.
  • The new generation Guild members of the Scraper Guild are also bullies, with Takara Erich being the only exception.
  • He slapped Takara repeatedly on the face, made her kiss his shoes, taunted her and called her names, then spit on the hot porridge she just bought from a food stall.
  • Noctis finally got annoyed by the loud noise created by the bully.
  • He decided to go in for a closer look.
  • Then he instantly recognized Joe Franco.
  • His brother reprimanded him a lot of times for trying to touch his allies.
  • Noctis picked up and held a tight grip on his enchanted spear, motioned for Takara to get out of there, and silently but menacingly advanced at Joe.
  • Joe grabbed hold of his battle axe.
  • "Ares Blessing, Strength of the Berserker"
  • He chanted and charged straight at me.
  • Noctis nimbly dodged right in time.
  • "Dragon Dance, First Form”
  • His speed increased.
  • He used it to avoid his battle-axe blows, stabbing at Joe’s weak points from a distance with a Dragon-fire element enchanted spear.
  • The noise in the waiting area changed into silence as everyone looked at the ongoing duel.
  • "Why are you hard to deal with, you bastard? Where did you come from?" Joe said, obviously anxious.
  • "Dragon Stab 8
  • th
  • Form”
  • The higher the form of the spear technique, the more fire it will inject into the enemy's weak spots and make him slower.
  • Noctis ignored Joe and continued thrusting and stabbing.
  • "Ha-ha! Your weak-shit attacks won’t work on me."
  • Joe kept shouting curses and threats, while Noctis just ignored him and continued on attacking.
  • "Dragon Dance 9th Form.”
  • Noctis’ speed and the stabs of his spear eventually increased while Joe slowed down.
  • He practically danced around Joe with his spear, stabbing and dodging at the speed of sound, until Joe reached his limit and couldn't take it anymore.
  • Joe dropped to his knees, with his head bowed and his neck exposed, as if asking for mercy.
  • Noctis switched his spear for a katana.
  • He approached Joe and placed the sharp end of my katana at his neck as if to decapitate him.
  • "Ha-ha, your weak-shit attacks didn't work on me."
  • Noctis threw his own words right back at Joe.
  • "Next time, pick on someone as strong as you, weakling."
  • "You're not worth removing from this game for now. But If I see you, do it again, it will cost you your life."
  • Noctis said in an icy and cold but calm tone, with his katana sinking a bit deeper into Joe’s neck and making him scream in pain.
  • "How does it feel to taste your own medicine, Joe? Oh, and release Takara Erich from your Guild. Right now, or this katana will sink deeper."
  • Joe, obviously panicking now, removed Takara Erich from the Scrapers Guild.
  • Noctis released his katana and just stood right there watching Joe struggle to get up.
  • One of his Guild members hurried to fetch a chair for him.
  • " I don't want to cross paths with you or your Guild again. Now run."
  • Noctis said icily at Joe, glaring at him straight in the eyes while cleaning his katana in full view of his Guild Members.
  • Then he and his Guild members run away as far from me as possible, leaving Takara Erich behind.
