Xena sat on a royal mat, the mat indicated the concubine with the highest authority and power among the king's wives, she was there looking at the other concubine as they were placing different gifts in her presence, trying to please her and be in favor with her.
Where she sat, she felt elated seeing how other concubines are trying to please her, it's an honor to be the king's favorite, but the concubine whom the king was to spend the last night with, was there feeling hurt, her name is Sheba, She prepared everything just to become the next king's favorite but it was abortive.
"I heard the king didn't show up in your chamber last night," one of the concubines asked concubine Sheba.
