Chapter 8

  • ~ Alpha Andrew ~
  • I am so delighted that Andrea just opened her eyes. She is fine, and I can’t contain my joy. She looked at me and gave me her angelic smile and a tear dropped from my eye as I smiled back at her.
  • She got up and sat on the bed then she stretched her arms and went on to embrace her mother. “I am fine now, mummy,” She told her mother.
  • “What happened to you Andrea? What happened in the garden?” Lolita asked with concern written all over her face.
  • “She needs some rest, Lolita my dear” I quickly cut in. I turned to Andrea and said to her. “Andrea, I am glad you are awake”
  • Lolita looked at me, not appearing surprised anymore. She is already used to me acting all secretive when it has to do with our daughter.
  • I turned to beta Xander in the hope that he would come up with something immediately to appease the luna. I can’t stand myself treating my luna this way.
  • Beta Xander knowing just what I wanted, smiled at the luna, went over to sit beside Andrea, and said. “Andrea, you are quite alright”
  • And then he turned to my luna and requested. “Please luna, we need to go check her now and you don’t need to worry yourself. She is fine”
  • Lolita’s face was expressionless. She knew there was no point arguing. She has resolved to remain quietly in the background where we, no not we but I specifically, have decided to put her.
  • She stood up from the bed and said. “I am glad you are fine, Andrea”
  • Beta Xander then drew Andrea up from the bed and quietly led her out of the room. I also walked quietly behind them and I avoided any eye contact with the luna.
  • We led Andrea into my study room. She needs to tell us whatever happened in the garden and I only hope that she does.
  • Once I am able to discover what happened to her in the garden, maybe I would be able to know the force that is against her, and with that I would lead my army to fight against it.
  • I want to divert her fate, I want to divert this impending war from her no matter what it takes. If I should know the enemy that is against her, then I will lead a war against them. They would be defeated before they even have a chance to come after my daughter. This is my promise to them.
  • I mind-linked beta Xander to relay my fears of being able to get her to talk.*Do you think she would tell us anything, Xander?* I asked through the mind link.
  • Much to astonishment, and before beta Xander would get a chance to reply, Andrea looked at the both of us and said. “Daddy, I don’t know how, but I think I can hear you”
  • She just did what?
  • “You... you... can... mind... no...” I stammered.
  • “No... way...” Beta Xander exclaimed.
  • To say that I was shocked would be an understatement. Did Andrea just reveal that she could hear my mind link to beta Xander, does it mean she intercepts in-between links, exactly how great could this be?
  • Interception between mind links is unheard of. It is only contained in myths and folklore. Legends had it that warriors of old were gifted with such powers by the moon goddess, and it is only warriors that appeal to the moon goddess that ever got such rear privilege. But such was only registered centuries ago, at the beginning of time.
  • Of a truth, I never believed in the tale of the ability to intercept between mind links. All along I had considered it as one of those many tales told to exalt the person of the moon goddess, and never had I imagined that it would happen in my time, to my own daughter.
  • “Xan... der... this...” I stuttered under my breath.
  • I looked at beta Xander to know his reaction to this awesome revelation, but the dude appeared to be even more confused than I. I could see the numerous questions that he had in mind on his face as he stared back at me and then at the princess.
  • “I... I... want... to... know... I...” beta Xander could not make out the right words, so he kept quiet.
  • “She... just said... it...” I stuttered.
  • I on my part could not help but wonder what exactly the strength of her interception was. Is her interception power going to be to close family and friends, or would it be to the entire pack, or maybe it would be universal?”
  • If it would be universal, then it would be great. Nothing else is like it in the whole wide world.
  • Now, this got me thinking. Should this be celebrated, or should it be a cause of concern?
  • No, this shouldn’t pose a threat. It should be to Andrea’s advantage, to our advantage, the pack’s advantage. I am going to unravel the mystery behind this, and I will see exactly where this takes us all.
