Chapter 56

  • It had been five days since King Mau left, and we had yet to hear anything back from him. Cerys had returned to her coven the day after, heeding the words of her king. She had made it clear that she had no plans to stay gone for long- she planned to visit often. Her words were something along the lines of “with you werewolves and your short lifespans, well, I’ll make sure to visit.”
  • Dakarai was always hovering not too far away from me, awaiting any orders as King Mau told him to do. However, seeing as I had no use of him until news from King Mau came he was often left to his own musings. The freedom to do as he wished within my territory didn’t seem to be enough to lift his spirits, seeing as I often caught a glimpse of him with a small frown tugging at his lips.
  • Grandpa Aaron was off, having left sometime after Cerys. Something about personal business, most likely gang related. But he assured me that he would be here whenever the time came.
