Chapter 32

• Denzel stood by the window of his office staring down into the streets of New York. He was completely lost in thoughts. It had been 2 days since he heard from Kate. He just couldn’t stop thinking about her after his encounter with her. It was an encounter that changed his whole perception of Kate. He had seen Kate to be just his maid who was supposed to be his servant, dominated and humiliated at will, but after his sexual encounter with her, he came to see her in a whole new light; to be a beautiful soul that is to be adored and worshipped as a goddess. A beautiful queen that was supposed to be served and not to serve. He beat himself emotionally for letting her slip off his fingers. He had her under his roof, yet he didn’t know her worth. He didn’t see it; he never bothered. Oh, how he wished he could turn back the hands of time to the first day he met her, he could have just asked her to marry him. Bingo! He exclaimed from within, that’s what he should do. Perhaps that way, Kate might get to know that he didn’t lie to her when he told her that he loved her. But then came another question. “How would he accomplish this?” He hadn’t proposed to anyone before. Maybe he could get an engagement ring for her. He knelt down, bringing out an imaginary ring to propose to an Imaginary Kate but he stood up immediately, seeing how stupid he looked in that position.
• “Damn!” He groaned just as he got up.
• Maybe he could tell Kim to help him talk to Kate. She did it before and it worked when she had threatened to press charges for assault. She had made her change her mind. If she had done it before, she could still do it again.
