Chapter 29

• Kate sat on the kitchen chair lost in thought. Her encounter with her boss the past few weeks had been one hell of an experience. A sweet-bitter experience she must say. He would always hurt her so much but would always find a way to pacify her and get her to feel better and forget about the whole issue. He had just promised to take her to her favorite magazine fashion week show. She had always revered going for the runway show of one of the greatest fashion designer companies in America and perhaps the whole world but sadly she could not afford it.
• Maybe she was beginning to develop a soft spot for him or perhaps, she was beginning to like him… hell no! came a thunderous reply from her head snapping her out of her thoughts. There is no way in hell she was going to fall for that monster who did nothing else but derived joy in hurting her so much. He was such a possessive rich man who thinks everything could be bought with money including people’s happiness. Falling for him would only end up breaking her heart again. She just couldn’t afford to have her heart broken again, not after what Carlisle had done to her. It was one of the most painful experiences of her life.
