Chapter 16

• Denzel arrived at the beach house just before noon, It was a sunny afternoon. Everywhere seemed calm and serene. The beach seemed calm except for the birds that chirped at intervals. He stepped out of the car and took out a small bag from the back seat of his car and headed inside the house. He was going to spend the weekend with his parent at the beach house, something he hated so well. He had already refused to honor the invitation but his possessive father needed him to be present. He wanted them to talk about the company and how he had been making progress. Most times, he wondered how he managed to survive his parents while growing up. They were just so possessive, maybe that was why he had refused to live with them.
• “Mum, Dad. I’m here”. He called out just as he made his way into the house but there came no response.
• “Mum, Dad? Is anyone home?”. He called out again but there was no response.
