Chapter 18 A Sudden Confession

• Furthermore, that woman gave birth to Henry’s baby boy in less than six months after their marriage. What did that mean? It meant that Henry was already fooling around with that other woman when Isabelle’s mother was terminally ill; he even impregnated her. He probably pays no attention to the daughter that he had with a woman he didn’t love, especially after his lover gave birth to his son. No one in Isabelle’s family cares about her; not her father, and most definitely not her father’s lover. Erin reached her hand out and held onto Isabelle’s hand as she felt sorry for her. Isabelle had been tidying her past papers, but she froze and gazed at Erin dumbfoundedly when this happened. Isabelle’s eyes glinted when she saw the pity in Erin’s gaze. Isabelle then lifted her chin as she scoffed. “Why are you giving me such a doting stare? Do you intend to complete these past papers for me?” Erin let out a soft sigh in her heart when she saw how Isabelle was attempting to lighten the mood. Erin simply raised her brows as she played along with Isabelle. “In your dreams!”
• “Pfft!” Isabelle waved her hand in Erin’s face.
• After class ended in the afternoon, Isabelle didn’t wait around for Erin as she had to rush off for her shift at work. Erin had her bag on her shoulders and her head hung low when she saw a pair of long legs appearing in her field of vision. She froze for a moment before she slowly looked up to see Jude standing before her. The corners of her lips curled up slightly when she saw his warm, charming face. I’ve really been bumping into him a lot, huh? Jude wore his bag over one shoulder, and his lanky, six-foot body towered a whole head above Erin’s petite, five-foot-three figure.
