Chapter 176 I Hit Someone, Uncle Arthur

  • Carol arrived at the hospital a while after Frank got there. The past few days felt like an emotional roller-coaster ride, and Carol found it hard to cope with her overwhelming feelings. When she saw the frail girl lying in bed, Carol felt as if a huge rock had just weighed itself down against her chest. She still looks like a child herself, yet… She’s going to be a mother soon. Carol had gotten over the initial shock of the news, but she was now left with mixed feelings as she looked at Erin.
  • Frank wanted to use the same trick on the hospital—he wanted to convince them to move him into the same ward as Erin. However, Arthur firmly rejected his idea this time. Frank was dejected, but he had no nerve to protest as he recalled how he had failed to protect Erin this time. The old man therefore allowed Carol to help him back into his room next door. The nurse followed after them and gave Frank an IV drip before she left.
  • After making sure that the door was shut, Carol knitted her brows as she returned to Frank’s bedside. Her troubled gaze was the complete opposite of Frank’s gleeful and excited expression. He raised an eyebrow when he noticed the concern written all over Carol’s face. “You can go home. I’m fine here; you don’t have to stay around and take care of me.”
