• “MOMMY, won’t Grant pick us up here?” Zoe asked as they were putting their things away. While Cindy held her baby and fed her, the baby cried. Her mom just sat on the couch and watched her.
• “Not anymore. He said he would just wait for us at the airport. “Then he’ll take us home,” her mom said.
• “Look at how the wrong Grant timed it. We need him now, but he’s not coming. Even though I didn’t want to see him, he couldn’t wait to get here.” Zoe put her last suitcase on top of her brown one. She told her mom, “I’m going straight home to our old apartment.”
