Chapter 26 Firm resolve

• Katherine was practically in a trance as she dejectedly walked home, her mood damped with sadness, her glasses hanging loosely on the bridge of her nose. Her legs were heavy as they moved one after the other, mirroring the sadness in her heart.
• All of a sudden, she paused and sighed as she slowly raised her hands up and felt her cheeks. She could still feel the soreness of the scathing slap on her cheeks. Rose had made sure to distribute the hot slaps between her cheeks and it still hurt. She knew that Rose would be mad if she found out her secret, but she never expected her to hit her so hard. The best thing for her to do was to stay off Rose's fish in order not to perish while sniffing it.
