Chapter 6 ANITA'S CRUSH IS THEIR BOSS

• Anita pouted and crossed her arms, she was also staring at her friend too. She knew what she said was insane and also knew her heart was crazy, but, what could she do? Her heart was no longer in her control, it has a mind of its own.
• “When did that start, Anita?” Becky asked as she hurried back and held her friend's shoulders with both hands. She wouldn't wait to get the whole details, “Tell me, when did you start having this crazy feelings?” She added, excitedly.
• Anita looked into her friend's eyes and saw that she was genuinely concerned for her. And also, interested to know how the love grew in her heart.
• “I don't know either… I just… I just started liking him… It's been hard, but I can't help it, girlfriend. It's not like he has a girlfriend.” Anita replied and wiped the single tear that escaped her eye. How was she going to tell her friend? She sighed and looked up at her friend.
• “We both know how this man is. You and I know he is as hard as a rock. Only his stony face is enough to send all hearts away… no doubt, but, he is handsome. Yes! Very handsome! He can even be compared to my Cain, but his heart is ugly, Ani. Gosh! I wish you can understand this. That guy, I'm sure he can never fall in love with anyone. I'm not even sure if he can ever settle down in his life… maybe he had gone through a lot when he was young, but that man is a sadist! Your heart will be in trouble if you don't control it. Please…” Becky begged her friend as she feared for heartbreak.
• The man Anita fell in love with was someone she should never fall for. Not because he was bad but, he can never love anyone, and he's status was unimaginable. They were rich, but he was wealthy.
• Anita took two steps back as more tears fell from her eyes, she wasn't pained, but she just felt the need to, “I'm sorry, Becky. I know, I always complain about him when we just started working here but, my silly heart is crazily crushing for him right now that I can't even comprehend it myself.” Becky blinked in shock as she heard Anita's confession. Was it really love? Anita continued, overlooking her friend's reaction, “I know Mr. Lucian can never love me back, but I'm not ready to ever leave his side, Becky… I just want to see his face every day and be by his side even if it's just this way and maybe someday, I will have the opportunity.” Anita wiped her tears, and sat back on the seat behind her.
• Becky's heart raced, and her chest ached as well. She knew better than anyone that Lucian wasn't someone who could fall in love. His face was always that of sadness and that never changed even after she had worked for him for good four years already. Rumour has it that all the girls he dated, eventually left him, leaving one complaint or the other. Anita knew about the rumors too, but then, how did it get to have a crush?
• Anita would get hurt at the end of the day and also lose her focus! Those dreams they had together… What they wished to become, and all their plans would go down the drain. Becky held her chest as she walked back to her seat and sat on it, “Anita… are you going to let go of your dreams for a man who will never love you? Are you ready to let go of everything because of this man?” She asked her friend as tears rolled down her pretty face.
• Anita sobbed quietly, and that gave the answer to Becky's question. Becky knew right then that she could never change her friend decision any longer. Anita was blindly in love with a scarecrow.
• “If I can win his heart, I will get more than I dreamed, you know. Even if he doesn't accept me, my dreams won't die because, I am still working hard and earning more, and I hope to be the next, to get promoted.” Anita said so confidently.
• Becky agreed. Since she can't change it then, she had to support it. She sighed, “Okay then… I wish you the best of luck in winning his heart over.” Becky forced a wry smile to her friend, “Actually… it would be great to see my best friend and my boss together. That way I will be able to pull his ears anytime he scolds me! And go shopping to the most expensive malls and, even, make orders for food while in the office.” She said causally, and laughed.
• Anita laughed too and stood up. She walked up to Becky and gave her a warm hug, “Thank you, girlfriend! I am so glad I have a friend like you. You are so supportive, and you are a blessing to me, Becky!” She said honestly, and kissed her cheeks.
• Becky smiled and hugged her friend back, “I pray you accept my crazy friend's heart, Mr. Lucian!” She prayed in her mind.
• Anita broke the hug and went back to pick the files. She brought it back to Becky's table and dropped it there.
• “So, when do you intend leaving?” She asked Becky.
• Becky let out a deep breath and smiled, “I don't know yet… I have to speak with Cain first. He will decide that.” she replied as she was eager to tell Cain about the promotion. It was also a way for Cain to follow her, and meet her family, too.
• Anita smiled sadly. She would really miss her friend so much. They had never been apart from each other since their childhood. They were always close to each other, and Anita wondered how they would be able to cope with this.
• “Will Cain go with you? I'm sure he won't be able to stay back without you.” Anita asked, as she knew how much they both loved themselves.
• “I can't say yet, but, I hope he will be free to go with me.” Becky said with a worried face, and Anita held her friend's hand.
• “He will!” She assured and Becky smiled.
• The day at the office was the best for Becky, as she kept smiling at everyone who crossed her path. And just like every other work day, Becky closed from work and was dropped off by Anita. She got home earlier than usual and met Cain watching football on the TV. He was only in his night robe, and it was obvious the match just started. His hair was wet too and Becky knew, he had just taken his bath.
• Cain was a football lover that would never miss a match for anything.
• There was a cup of beer beside him that he was slowly sipping and enjoying his privacy all alone!
• “Ahem!” Becky made her presence known.
• “Welcome, baby!” He greeted with his eyes still focused on the football.
• “Yeah, baby!” Becky replied and walked toward the stairs. She didn't know anything about football, and she wouldn't waste her time watching one, but, and she knew better than to disturb Cain when he was this focused on a match.
• “Which club is playing today?” Becky asked as she paused and turned to look at Cain.
• “Arsenal and Man Chester United.” Cain replied excitedly.
• “Cool!” She climbed on slowly, with her bag in her hand, and entered their room. There, she dropped her bag on the bed and removed her clothes before packing her hair and tying it up.
• She entered the bathroom naked and took a long shower before putting on her fluffy robe.
• “Oh my!” Becky said while massaging her cream on her skin. Her body ached and she was so tired.
• She opened her bag and brought out the files her boss left with her. She had brought it home to study better and also show it to Cain.
• “Should I take it to him now?” She asked herself, but then she shook her head, “No! I will show him and explain everything to him, later when we come upstairs to sleep.” she told herself and kept the files back in her handbag.
• She laid on the bed and was so carried away. When she woke up, she jumped out of bed, picked up her phone, and left the room to join Cain since he was yet to retire to bed.
• She looked at Cain from up and saw that he was already done with the match, and he was watching a war movie.
• “You're done with the match already?” Becky asked and Cain looked up at her!
• “You took forever to change” Cain said and Becky smiled. She didn't need to tell him, “And yeah, We can play now.” Becky screamed happily as she ran down the stairs to meet her lover.
