Chapter 7

  • Theo and I have been dating for a week and it seems that Jared is not very happy with that, his looks every time I have met him made it very clear to me, but also his threats about making his brother cry again because he had no problem approaching me at the door of the building and repeating it.
  • Also, something that I now know is that Theo is not a very quiet person to sleep, because the night before he decided to stay in my apartment, and he didn’t stop moving, that at one point I became his pillow, and it’s something that he didn’t remember when he stayed long ago, nor did he know that he was someone cuddly. He always seems to want to hide it, but it's a side of him that he can't help.
  • After having a shower and changing, I go to the bed where he is, wrapped in blankets, and some even are on the floor.
  • I watch him for a moment before brushing his hair back from his face, softly saying his name to wake him up, not because I have to go to work, but because I don't know his exact schedule, since he and I almost always coincide in the elevator, and I imagine he is used to waking up early.
  • “Five more minutes” he stammers.
  • “I have to go to work” I murmur.
  • I don't mind leaving him in the apartment and although I don't know him well enough, I don't think anything bad would happen if I did, but it seems that he doesn't like the idea of being left alone, since he sits on the bed in a quick movement and despite that his eyes remain closed, pouting his lips as if he was really struggling to have to do it.
  • Then he leans over and hugs me, resting his head on my arm.
  • “Can't you stay?”
  • “I can’t, I have to work.”
  • He pouts his lips and opens one eye first before the other, looking at me like he really wants me to stay, even his arms tighten around me. I let him be like that for a moment, after all, I have some time before going to have breakfast.
  • “You smell so good” he says.
  • Who can think of talking about the smell of another person? I think only Theo, who now rubs his head on my shoulder as if he were a kitten wanting to be impregnated with my scent.
  • “Theo…”
  • He makes a sound in protest that I wanted to complaint, though it wasn't really a complain, just that his action seemed strange to me.
  • He's still holding me when I look back at the clock, I still have time to eat breakfast if I get out of bed now, but I won't be able to do it if I wait five more minutes, and it's not something that really matters to me, although I know it's not good for my health.
  • “Get up, we need to have breakfast.”
  • He groans again, but lets go of me, and still with a pout on his lips he gets up from the bed, following closely behind me as I go into the kitchen. By the time I'm serving the coffee into two mugs, I feel his arms around me again and his head on my back, however, it's not annoying, because my actions can continue and I do it.
  • I grab the mugs and take them to the breakfast bar, open the bag of toast, as well as get the jam out of the fridge, feeling like Theo has no intention of letting go of me.
  • “Did you become the hug monster?” I ask, pulling out a slice of toast.
  • “Yes” his voice no longer has traces of sleepiness “I can also be the kissing monster.”
  • “Should I be afraid of him?”
  • “Maybe, because you're the only one I want to eat with kisses”
  • He releases me and leaves a kiss on my cheek, then walks around the bar and sits on one of the chairs, taking a slice of bread and spreading it with a lot of jam and then giving it to me, I don't refuse to take it even though I already have one in my hand.
  • Theo is pleased by my action, because he just smiles and drinks his coffee, making a grimace before taking a spoon and putting a lot of sugar in it, since apparently it has been very bitter for him, but Malu and I like bitter coffee.
  • I finish my breakfast while he's still spreading jam on his slice of bread, and I excuse myself to go brush my teeth.
  • I check the time and I know that I still don't have to run through the streets, or take a taxi, which due to the time and the traffic would be difficult to get, since I'm not the only one who goes to work, even using the bus is complicated because of the number of people there.
  • I go back to the kitchen, where Theo is having a peaceful breakfast and I tell him that I'm going to work, seeing him nod as he drinks his coffee. However, his gaze on me tells me that he is waiting for something, so I move closer, leaning over him and graze our lips, in a very short kiss with which he seems a little dissatisfied, so he places his hand on the back of my neck, preventing me from pulling away and joins our lips again in a kiss that is not at all short.
  • We pull apart when breathing becomes really needed, and he smiles at me, brushing his fingers over my lips as if he wants to remove any traces that may have left from kissing me.
  • “I hope to have more of this tonight” he says smiling.
  • “See you at night.”
  • I lean over him again and plant a kiss on his forehead before leaving, feeling peaceful because that's one thing Theo can do, transmit me peacefulness.
  • I think he always has a positive energy that could put anyone in a good mood, of course, everyone except Mrs. Oh, who a few days ago when she saw him hugging me in the elevator, she threatened that if he hugged her again, she was going to blind him with her umbrella, and honestly, I'm beginning to believe that woman was never young, she's very bitter.
  • But Theo, he just hugged me more closely and brought one of his hands to his forehead, as if he was receiving an order from a superior in the army and told her that he had understood, then he smiled murmuring: “but hugs are the best for the grumpy old ladies”, that I am sure that if she had heard it, she would have hit him with the umbrella that she always used to carry with her, even if there were no clouds in the sky.
  • That whole situation in the elevator made me believe that Theo is someone special.
