• The birds were chirping and little rays of sunlight seeped through the curtains. I sat up and felt a mild ache on my back. It had been very long since I had slept that badly. After sacrificing the bed for Heather, I had no choice but to lie on the couch. I resented her so much I couldn’t be that close to her. It would lead to temptations that would have terrible effects. I had to let Heather know that I had moved on and had zero interest in her. If she thought we would end up getting back together, she was wrong. I stood up and went to the bedroom of the suite we were staying in because that was where the bathroom was.
