Chapter 12 Symbol Of Light

• Cedric walked down the all too familiar hallway, he had walked down this path more times than he could count. He didn't know why he loved the place so much. At times he thought it was the serenity this place had that the other part of the castle lacked. There were fewer maids here and the hallways were often deserted, there were no parties on this side, neither was their loud people with obnoxious habits.
• Other times he wondered if it was the soft hues and intricate but homely designs with which this part of the castle was painted and decorated. The other part of the magnificent castle had this cold feel to it. Of course it was beautifully decorated with priceless jewels and ornaments but it never felt like home, it was detached, unemotional. On this side, he could see that every item had been purposely put there with an intent. It made him feel at home, it made him feel loved, it made him feel like he belonged.
• However if he was truthful to himself even a tiny bit, he would admit the reason he loved this place was because it was his mother's quarters, he had come here every time he was down and needed someone to talk to. She always listened to him with no judgements in her eyes, only pure love for him in her eyes.
