He gave me a sarcastic laugh then said. “When I checked last, I was the initiator of this whole fashion thing. You are mine. Whatever you have is mine too. I got equal rights as much as you do. So now you will dress up and let me take you somewhere.” He said. He wore a white suit and a white shirt. He accessorized it with a turquoise neck tie and a pocket square. He wore a black leather slip on point toe shoe and a black belt. He looked lovely. “What is the occasion?” I asked. He said it was a surprise.
• We left the house to find a cab waiting for us. He ushered me in and the driver drove away. The cab driver did not need to be told where we were going. They had already made arrangements. We arrived at a recreational park. We sat on maasai lesos that were in the cab. Ray held my hands and started narrating stories to me. I talked about his life. Most of the things he said he had already shared with me, but there was no harm in listening. He went on about his childhood, his school days and job search. He pointed out that he had declined to take the job Magdalene Mama boi’s friend had offered him because she wanted to have a sexual relationship with him. He told me of more incidences where he would be told to choose between having a job and keeping his manhood to himself and always choose not to take the job.
