Chapter 27

• Greg would be closing school in less than a week. Mum had told him what had happened to me when she went to visit him in school. He came home and greeted Anita, then looked at me and asked me why I had decided to abort the baby. Greg, as insensitive as always said that I had told them that Ray and I were working on the pregnancy issue. It was therefore logic enough that we had met and decided on aborting the baby. Anita tried to talk to him but he could not change his mind. I went to the room and locked myself there.
• He would come knocking and throw all kind of immature insults at me. He talked of how I had been sleeping with my teachers to ensure I scored high marks. He said that he was waiting to see what I would score in the final examination. Anita told him that even if I could not score like the other examinations, they would understand because I had done it at a very hard time but he couldn’t listen.
• Mum came back and Anita told her how Greg had been insensitive with me. She tried talking sense into him but he was hard-headed and could not hear any of it. “Steph is just an immoral girl who sleeps with men to get whatever she wants” he said and left us in the sitting room. Mum came and gave me a comforting hug and told me that she would try and talk to Greg more. Anita put a romantic movie for us to watch. Mum was already asleep at this time. It was an interesting one. We watched and cheered together.
