Chapter 20

• Greg decided to be very hard on me. He would cook the food that I didn’t like. He would spray perfume on his clothes and some in the sitting room. I would vomit till there was nothing left to vomit. He would mock me every now and then, especially when mum wasn’t around. I would go to the bedroom and cry a river. I became stressed. I wished I would just run away from home, but that was not possible, I still had one term to go to school. I rarely studied. I had no one to talk to. Anita would just get worried and this would affect her studies. I had failed mum; I couldn’t face her with my problem. Most of the time, I avoided sitting with her. I would go to my room and lock myself inside when she came home. I felt deserted, in a world of my own, with Ray being far away.
