Chapter 19

• The next day was on Sunday. I woke up feeling tired and sleepy. I decided not to go to church. This was the first day I would miss church. Greg reminded me that we were to hold a contest with other youth groups in the parish, and I was taking part. I told him I would just sleep a bit and join the youth group later. In the afternoon, I woke up and went to church. I looked sickly and tired. My face had changed a lot. Everyone I greeted would ask what was wrong with my face. I felt stressed out. It was too much for me to handle. We assembled in the church hall to start the contest. I was among the traditional dancers. We changed into the costumes. The songs were sung as we danced on stage. I felt weak and within no time, I collapsed.
• I woke up to see Greg standing by my side. He said that I had fainted.
• He asked me how I was feeling and I said I was feeling better. One of his friends, Dan, a rich friend had come with his dad’s car. He is one of those boys that Greg wanted me to date. He volunteered to drive me home. On our way he kept asking me about his proposal. I told him that it wouldn’t be possible since I had fallen in love with someone else.
