• “Hey, Claire?” Ethan suddenly asked, interrupting my thoughts. I hummed in response, peering up at him as he continued, “If you get scared, please tell me. I don't want you to get hurt or afraid. Okay? Promise?” He asked. I frowned at the look in his eye. He sounded serious when he said that, as if he truly meant it.
• But still, I couldn't help but feel like he was expecting something bad to happen. I hesitated for a moment as I contemplated whether to tell him the truth.
• “Ethan, it's okay for me to get scared occasionally. It's not a big deal. I'll be fine.” I answered confidently. He sighed deeply before shaking his head, “No Claire, it's not okay. Don't be stupid. I know you. You're too stubborn to admit to anything that scares you, especially when you're not supposed to. Now promise me you will tell me when you're scared.” He pleaded.
