- Finding Samuel was no longer a matter of fun or curiosity… It was survival. I needed to enter his world to find out the truth about mine. Only there would I find the answers about my father and Avalon's past.

I was a princess, raised to listen, appreciate, and clap to classical music and operas. Yes, I knew all about operas, although I had never been to one. My father sometimes traveled abroad. But I never was. I don't even know if they knew of my existence outside of Avalon. I even doubted Avalon knew about me.
