• It had been three days since she had been at Mateo's house, she still didn't feel too comfortable; it was a feeling hard to describe, as if she wanted to run away from the very infatuation she refused so much, the fear of getting hurt, was still alive, too alive to be ignored. There was a voice in her head telling her to try, that she had nothing to lose in admitting to him that she was in love with him, but there was another that prevented her from executing, telling her to spare herself the humiliation of being rejected by a man who only wanted her body, but felt a complete disinterest in her soul. There was not a second that went by that she did not torment herself for having broken her promise.
• Sweat trickled down the skin of the woman, who barely had a voice.
