Chapter 18

• Taking a deep breath, Laura finally sat in the car but didn’t look at him. She looked straight hoping he would say something to break the silence or start his car but nothing. It was complete silence.
• Only their breathing could be heard as she tried to focus on an empty road, his deep voice jerked her back. “How’s your fever now?”
• She looked at him stunned, “Better.” Just one word, she could utter. He then touched her forehead and she leaned back in panic but hit the door instead.
