Chapter 6

  • ~Grandma Falicia’s POV~
  • A young woman crashed into me as I was departing for my check-up with Doctor Abbott. No one dared to challenge me. I didn't respond straight away for some reason, which is unusual for me. My gaze was drawn to the child who was bawling. Javier, my grandson, looks just like that boy. He is like a mini Javier.
  • Is it possible that Javier has a son that I am unaware of?
  • I've been pleading with him and Sandra to start a family. I urged Javier to propose to that girl the first year he met her, but he refused to commit. I'm not sure why he decided to propose now.
  • What if that small boy is his child? After all these years, why hasn't he informed me he already had a son? How is it possible?
  • That birthmark was passed down through the Hills family. My grandson has a lot of good explaining to do. I picked up my phone and dialed his number. He was too fast to pick up the phone, so I asked him to stop by my house, but he said he was already there, and the helper informed him that he had gone to the hospital. We arrived at my home after about 15 minutes, and Javier was there with his fiancée, Sandra. I greeted Sandra and called Javier to my study.
  • "How come you didn't tell me you already had a son?"
  • "Grandma, what do you mean?"
  • " How could I have a son and keep it a secret from you?"
  • "Is that even possible?"
  • "Today at the hospital, I met a boy. The boy came in with his mother terrified. Just like you, he's also allergic to brinjals and chickpeas." Javier burst out laughing.
  • "Grandma, just because a boy has the same allergies like mine, doesn't mean he's mine, come one."
  • " Put an end to it and tell me the truth. How can a boy who looks just like you have the same birthmark as you, and share your allergies? Javier, how can you explain that?"
  • "I'm not sure, but I'm very sure I don't have a son."
  • "Are you sure about that? I'm 100% certain that boy is a Hills."
  • "I'm sure you'll be the first to know if I have a son, Grandma."
  • "If you say so, I'm not sure why I'm so attracted to that boy. He'll be here next weekend, in any case. I requested that his mother bring him. You are welcome to come over and see him for yourself."
  • I've never been more puzzled in my life after facing Javier. How come that child looks like a Hills if he claims it's not his son? Anyway, it may just be a coincidence, but something about that kid makes me want to get closer to him. We'll see as time passes, but I'm definitely not letting go of this.
  • ~Gabriella’s POV~
  • I had an early meeting with Hills Group International today. They reserved my services for all of their old computers. They apparently intended to refurbish the computers and install the latest software before donating them to charity. As a result, I'll be quite busy today and tomorrow. I'll have to contact Mrs. Hills to have her stay with Xander. I'll go fetch him, perhaps tomorrow. I wouldn't want to go up and down after a long day. I wish Alex and Chloe had been there. They went to Dubai to spend their anniversary. It's been more than a month. So Mrs. Hills is literally a lifesaver for me right now. I'm going to acquire a car when I finish this assignment with Hills Group International. Xander and I need a car. I couldn't afford a car before, but now that I have this job, I know I can. I took out my phone and dialed Mrs. Hills' number. She picked up the phone after it had rung for a few minutes.
  • "Hello child, I was about to call you. I intended to despatch my driver to pick up the young man. Is he prepared?"
  • " Almost, I needed a favor. I'm sorry, but I didn't have anyone to ask since all of my friends are out of the country. I have a task with Hills Group International that I need to complete by tomorrow. Do you mind if he swings over for a sleepover? I'll pick him up the next day."
  • "Hills Group International, what are you doing there?"
  • "Oh, I service devices and install software on the side, plus I operate a little photographic business every week. They asked me to repair their old devices; they want to donate them to charity. Therefore, I won't be able to complete everything today."
  • "It's all right, child. I'll have Lucas, my driver, come fetch him. Please provide me with your address."
  • "That's fine." I gave her my address, and Xander was hauled up an hour later. I called an uber to Hills Enterprise.
  • ~Javier’s POV~
  • Today is a rather leisurely Saturday. I contacted Sandra and asked her to accompany me to Grandma's house; she consented. Sandra dislikes my grandmother. I'm aware of this, and I know she'll go because I asked. I simply want her to know how wonderful my grandmother is. I know she's a lioness, but she's incredible. People are afraid of her, yet all she does is put on a frightening expression. She is the most lovely grandmother I've ever met, and I want to spend the day with her. I love Sandra, but I know she's with me for money. I don't care; all women seek money. I told her we should meet at my grandmother's house since Sandra's house was a little far away, so I got in my car and drove to my Grandma's house. Her servants were busy watering the garden when I arrived, parked my car, and went inside. My grandmother was in the living room, so I rushed directly there, and that's when I saw him, the kid.
  • How could someone look so much like me?
  • I raced to the kid before even greeting my grandma.
  • "Can you tell me your name?" The boy looked at me confused too, as I was
  • "Xander Xavier Parker." He provided his complete name.
  • "Do you mind if I call you Xavier?"
  • " I like Xavier more, but when I use that name, my mum always cries, but it's between you and me, right?"
  • "Right, high five." I dislike children.
  • They irritate me, but this boy is an exception. He's adorable. Sandra came in as I was playing with Xavier, looking at him as if she had seen a ghost.
  • "Whose child is this, and why does he resemble you, Javier?"
  • " I'm not sure where Grandma got him, but he's adorable." Sandra was clearly concerned, but Grandma just ignored us and left, taking Xavier with her. I'm not sure why, but everyone was treating the kid like he was a hill. He was well-liked by the workers. Except for Sandra, everyone wanted to play with him. I saw confusion mingled with hatred in her eyes. I kissed her cheeks.
  • "How was your trip here?"
  • "Not bad, Javier. Do you have a son? "
  • "I wish he was mine, but I have no idea whose kid he is."
  • "I don't like him." I was enraged by her remark.
  • "You despise a child who hasn't done anything wrong to you?"
  • " Are you out of your mind?"
  • "What if he's your son?"
  • "Does it bother you that he may be my son Sandra? Are you that evil?"
  • "No, I'm just stating the facts." I can't believe this woman's audacity.
  • " Listen, we came here to spend time with my grandma, and if you don't feel comfortable with her and that boy, you're free to go. Get that?"
