Chapter 139 Book 2 Mysterious Husband Chapter 90

  • ~Maya’s POV~
  • My husband has been unconscious for a week now, and he hasn’t shown any signs of waking up. It’s a shame since there are so many things I’d like to discuss with him but we can’t because of his state. Even if there are a lot of things that aren’t being said, I’m not going to give up. Today will be the day for our family gathering. The purpose of the gathering is completely beyond my grasp. I hate what Zion did, but I want him to wake up for our kids. I don’t want him to be absent from my children’s lives as they grow. Over the past week, Lucas has been following Kelly’s movements. The last location we got was that she was at her family's house, but when we arrived there with the cops, she was nowhere to be found. It was as though she knew we were coming. I know exactly how to deal with people like Kelly. For the time being, I will give her the impression that she is in the driving seat. Even if becoming pregnant was her ultimate goal, the fact that she will not become pregnant is a positive development. I was done breastfeeding Noah. He was already sound asleep when I placed him down, and I stole a quick glimpse at him before leaving the room to go into grandpa’s study. I pushed open the door and apologized for being late. They all understood my reasons. I positioned myself in proximity to Grandma. She firmly grasped my hand and stroked my palm in a nonstop motion. Grandpa was looking dapper as ever because he was wearing his glasses as he was working at his desk. He was the most dashing senior citizen I’d ever seen. It’s very crazy how much Zion, his dad, and his grandpa all look the same, not to mention how much my boys look like all of them. Grandpa was rummaging through some papers that he was holding in his hands. After a long pause, he began to speak.
  • “So, we discussed the situation with the doctor, and he confirmed to us that he is unsure of the precise period at which Zion will eventually regain consciousness. Things at the company have been going downhill since he has been gone. Therefore, in order to safeguard the interests of the business, we have no choice but to remove him from his position as president of the Archer Group and hold elections for a new leader. My stomach dropped to my knees. My husband worked so hard for that position, and the company is where it is now because of him. Why would they want to get rid of him in the first place? I pray that they do not elect someone who is not a member of the Archer House because it would be spitting on Zion’s face. He exerted a lot of effort to bring the company to the position it is in now.
