Chapter 10 Awake!

• Dustin was seated in the living room, his legs were above the glassy side stood and a tray of fruit in his hands. He just dipped his his fork into the sliced strawberry and slowly took it into his mouth. His mind had been traveling different places, he was thinking about what it'd be like to go back to Los Angeles and resuming work again, but mainly he thought of the night he spent in nightlight with the unknown lady.
• "Can't you just forget?" he groaned inwardly and slapped his head.
• Kendall walked back into the living room with his hands down to his groin.
• "Sir, its all packed and we are ready to move" he said after adjusting his glasses.
• "Okay, I'll join you in the car" Dustin replied and Kendall left.
• He was finally leaving for Los Angeles, Kendall had packed their luggage to the car and they were set to leave.
• He got up his Chesterfield chair and walked out through the door with his tray still in his hands.
• Kendall stood by the car waiting for Dustin and in the next few minutes he arrived. Dustin walked into the car and sat by the passenger seat.
• "I've told Greg about the flight, he's waiting at the airport" Kendall said stepping into the driver seat
• "okay, let's go then.." Dustin replied and buckled his seat belt.
• The car slowly drove out through the gates and then he turned his head to the window.
• "So..bye Texas for now" he thought then released a sigh
• "Boss, did you enjoy your stay here?" Kendall asked him
• "I guess I did" he shrugged
• "You know any time we visit other countries, we get one thing In our memory we wouldn't want to forget, especially something we've never done before" Kendall said and Dustin rolled his eyes.
• He doesn't think he might want to answer Kendall if he eventually asked him.
• "so what's in yours?" he asked him
• "nothing much, for the first time I saw the sweetest side of you.. with a lady" Kendall smiled
• "please explain"
• "I've never seen you speak to a lady like the way you did to the lady we met at the bar, the one that probably got dumped by her ex" he chuckled and Dustin rolled his eyes
• "I was being a gentleman" he replied lowly
• "I love that side of you, and you know what?...I'm beginning to envy your wife" Kendall laughed slightly as Dustin gave a side smile
• "So you boss?"
• He paused...he knows his answer!
• "For the first time I had a night stand with a lady"
• "if you want to forget it you can.." Kendall shrugged
• "I don't know Ken, I wanted to see her again" he replied after releasing a sigh
• "maybe not now, but we don't know..with time you might" Kendall replied
• Dustin couldn't explain what he felt inside of him, he had wished he saw Quinn once more before he leaves, but there's no trace of her around.
• "let's just forget, we are going back to Texas after this shirt vacation for business, work resumes immediately we get there so let's get our minds off it" Dustin cleared his throat
• But then the memories of Quinn rubbing her hands on his bare back flashed back to his memory.
• "gosh snap out of it!" he winced lowly.
• FEW HOURS LATER
• The flight back to Los Angeles was a 3hr journey. Dustin had used one of his private jet to go back to Los Angeles and now he is presently in his car with Kendall driving him home.
• "We'll be resuming work tomorrow, I've never had a vacation like this so I'll take a break today" he said tiredly to Kendall
• "No problem Sir" he replied
• Dustin is always this busy type, even if he arrives at another country that day, he would resume work that same day. But today Isn't like any of it.
• Few minutes after driving he arrived at his mansion.
• "Home sweet home" he smiled
• FEW DAYS LATER~
• At the hospital
• Renae did not leave Quinn side, day and night she sat by her side. Adrian was the one doing the cooking and all. He just arrived at the hospital again with a bag in his hand.
• "Hey Adrian, you're back" Renae said immediately she saw him
• "I'm back with lunch, how she doing?" he replied taking a look at Quinn.
• "the same way she had been, haven't seen any change yet, I'm becoming scared Adrian" Renae said lowly and Adrian walked to her after keeping their lunch on the table.
• "it's okay, you don't need to be scared Renae, the doctor said she would recover.. let's hope she wakes up and remembers us" he said and pulled her in for a warm hug.
• Renae closed her eyes as she hugged him tightly but when she heard someone sigh, her eyes went wide immediately as she pulled away.
• The sound wasn't coming from Adrian neither her. She turned to the bed where Quinn was laid and saw her eyes move, not up to a second her finger moved.
• "qui..qui..QUINN?!!" Renae exclaimed and ran to her bed sitting beside her and took her hands in.
• Quinn's eyes slowly lifts open, she could see the ceiling at first and then she slowly looked at Renae.
• She stared at her for sometime at first, Renae heart was beating out of fear.
• "Could it be she doesn't remember me?" she thought and gulped down
• "you know me right?" she asked and then a tear dropped down Quinn eyes
• "Renae?" she called lowly. Rename couldn't hold her tears anymore, she cried out and pulled Quinn to a hug.
• "I thought you'd forget me! thank goodness!!" she exclaimed
• Adrian smiled and walked to her too, "my baby girl!!" he smiled
• "Adrian!?" Quinn asked and he smiled "I knew you could never forget me" he laughed.
• Quinn took the oxygen mask off her nose as she slowly sat down and looked around.
• "where am I?" she tilted her head to the left with a puzzled expression written on her face.
• "what happened?.. why am I being hooked up by these machines?" she asked referring to the ventilator, BP monitor and all that
• "what time is it? why did I just wake up? what day is it sorry?" Quinn asked clearly confused
• "okay she doesn't remember!" Renae slapped her forehead
• "You don't remember anything that happened before you got here?" Adrian asked and she shook her head
• "but I should right? wait..why are you guys looking this way?!" she asked them
• "f*ck! I need to GO home, there's a TV series I don't want to miss" she said and tried to get off the bed but Adrian pulled her back.
• "oh goodness..how do we explain this" Adrian groaned and sat beside her
• "Damn my back aches me..I really should get off this fvcking bed" she groaned stretching her hands out
• Adrian looked at her speechless!
• is she really complaining of the bed? right now?
• "lemme guess, I'm in the hospital again? I thought I said you guys shouldn't bring me here only for antenatal classes!!" she exclaimed
• Renae didn't say a single word..
• "first of all..eat, you've been unconscious for days, aren't you hungry? I made one of your favorite meal, rocky mountain oysters.. you should eat" he said to her pulling the lunch bag to himself
• "really?! I'm hungry already" she said
• Renae sat where she was, speechless... she didn't expect Quinn to wake up this way.
• "you're sure you're Quinn right?" she asked lowly after making a soft sound
• "I was about to ask that" Adrian added
• "why would you ask that! its your girl Quinn.. I'm starving" Quinn replied and pulled the lunch bag to herself.
• In less than a minute she opened her plate up and began to eat.
• "maybe there was some kind of soul swapping" Renae scratched the back of her head.
• "I'll get the doctor, I'm confused as you are" Adrian said and left the ward.
• He went to the doctor office immediately and explained all that was happening. Dr Seuss left his office to the ward and saw Quinn seated on the bed with a smile on her face.
• She raised her head up and saw Adrian by the door with the Doctor.
• Quinn POV
• I stopped my hands immediately the moment I saw Adrian with a guy in a white coat, a doctor?
• They walked to me immediately and then Adrian sat next to me
• "I must say... you're getting good everyday, I love it" I said giving him a thumbs up.
• "Miss Quinn, its good to see you awake" the doctor said
• "wasn't I supposed to wake up? thanks" I replied
• "when will she be discharged doctor?" Renae asked
• "I was about to ask that..how did I get here too?" I added
• "Miss —" the doctor trailed off
• "its okay doctor, I'd explain it all to her" Renae replied and he nods his head
• "you'd be going home today, that's if I see you're good to go" the doctor replied
• "oh okay.." I smiled
• "is she supposed to behave this way..I'm kinda scared" Renae said to him
• "She's perfectly fine" he replied
• "now If you'll excuse me..I need to check her out" he said and Renae cleared the path for him to get to me.
• "Are you feeling any pain around?" he asked me
• "yep! my back aches me!! the bed is really hard yunno!" I frowned my face looking away
• "this is the softest model Miss" he laughed out and sat back.
• "looking at her..I think she's perfectly okay, you'll be discharged soon, and please Adrian I'd see you too" he said
• Renae POV.
• if I say I'm not confused I must be lying.. Quinn questions are getting me confused.
• The doctor walked away with Adrian but still I can't sit and do nothing. Quinn looked away and continued with her meal so I used the opportunity to go to them to listen too.
• "You know it'd take her time to recall most of her last experience, you shouldn't force her to okay? with time she will remember them but it'd be little by little" he explained
• "sure doctor" Adrian replied
• "and if she tries to remember forcefully she would have a severe pain in the head, if not careful she might pass out..but don't be scared when she gets that headache, it happens" he added
• "okay doctor, we've heard you" I replied. He nods his head before he left the ward and we returned back to Quinn.
• "you see I have a question!" she pouts her lips
• "and what's it?" I smiled
• "where's my Dad?" she asked and I clenched my jaw
• "That man didn't come to check on you...he's an idiot Quinn!!" I said in my thoughts wishing I could tell her but now Isn't the appropriate time I guess.
• "wait! I don't have one..I forgot" she laughed
• "literally.." Adrian shrugged
• "So my Mom?" she asked
• "uh huh..." Adrian muttered.
• This is one question I don't think I can answer now!
