Chapter 21 Moving In

• The rest of the journey was quiet but not awkward as we soon arrived at the parking lot of the building. Stepping out of the car, I was so filled with joy. I just couldn't wait to be in the comfort of my own home, with my own personal space. "Waow, you're very happy... You must really hate the hostel" Christian called from behind me, smiling. I couldn't help but giggle. It felt like it was once again the first day I stepped on the university grounds. Christian began offloading my stuff and I went to give him a hand. We soon finished and began moving them upstairs to my apartment, although Christian did most of the work because he wouldn't let me saying I was too fragile. I really didn't want to feel indebted to this guy.
• Thankfully, the apartment was already furnished else I would have had to sleep on the floor and cook in Christian's kitchen, cause I literally put in all my life savings renting the apartment. The apartment was also clean and when I asked Christian about it he said there was a cleaning lady taking care of everything. No wonder he made a mess that morning and didn't even bother. All I needed to do was unpack but it was already late and the following day was school. "You need help?" Christian called from the living room. "Naaah, I'm alright!" I yelled. "Ain't you meant to be in your apartment right now? Shouldn't you have retired to bed?" I proceeded to ask. "I mean you have a class for first period." I continued. "Well, you also have a class for first period on Mondays don't you??, I'm going to stay here to make sure you don't get bored" he said. "And besides, I've never really cared about lectures. When the time for exam comes, I nail them. I'm that smart you know.."he concluded. "You, smart??" I mocked then burst out laughing. He laughed too. "What?? I don't look like it??". I said nothing and just kept laughing.
• I soon finished unpacking. When I checked the time, it 2:36 am. I went out to the living room to check on Christian and found him fast asleep on the couch. I got a blanket and covered him. He looked so peaceful when he was asleep but he also looked funny. I held in my laughter so I wouldn't wake him up.
