Chapter 2 Jack Pov

• After Aviva left I sat down trying to pull myself together. I’m not a child and I know Aviva makes my heart race like crazy whenever she is around. When I started feeling like this Aviva was only 15 and I told myself maybe because when she came back for holiday one day she looked like a woman and I hoped it will pass but it’s getting worse. Damn how would I handle such feelings, she sees me like her brother and she trust me.
• I can’t show her how I feel she will be disappointed in me and I long for her approval all the times. Aviva respects me too much now, when she was young she used to run to my office every-time she came back from school to tell me all about it and she will be looking at me with those sweet eyes and I loved her so much and I still love her but I wonder if it’s still sisterly love. I can’t disappoint her even Alex trust me with his sisters, I wouldn’t even send a marriage proposal to them, what would I say.
• She has become such an important person in my life, her sisters are important too but with her it’s different. Her sisters are always flirting with me , I know they want me but I wouldn’t touch them. I respect Aviva’s family too much. They are respectful people in the Village. The father had 3 wives but the love and peace in their house is amazing it always takes my breath away.
• After growing up with only my brother, it is different to have 9 siblings. My life was quite and lacking of many things my father was always away and my mother was always sad. But they were nice people, I even miss them everyday after 5 years since they died in a car accident I still feel them.
• I have to help Aviva with her project, I promised her when she was in her first year that I will help her with her project for the finale year. And it’s already her final year. She is turning 17 this year.
• I’m even worried on what to get her on her birthday, that never bothered me before.
• “ Boss we have been calling you for the past two minutes and you are frozen to the spot, wait a minute I hope you are not thinking about my cousin I saw her walk out few minutes ago” Rich always have a big mouth but he was my best friend and we were of the same age.
• “ Rich get away man, I was actually thinking about her final year project, she selected her topic last term so we have to work on it this holiday and finish it” I replied and not looking at him.
• “ Oooh so you agree that you were actually thinking about her” he winked at me, I picked my pen holder and threw it at him and he ducked away.
• “ Rich if you don’t leave my office now I will be punching you next, why were you calling me anyway” Rich knew me very well, we clicked the second I got to this place since then we have been friends and more like brothers we go everywhere together.
• He knows everything about me and I know everything about him. And he can read me like a book and this is not something I want to discuss with him, this is her cousin after all. He might not be happy with me.
• “ There are clients who need to see you should I send them to your office or you will see them by the dining room they just finished their lunch.”
• “ Let me come and see them I need fresh air anyway”
• “ Sure you have been dreaming in your office for a long time hahahahaha” Rich laughed and ran outside before I stood up to catch him.
• I loved and respected him so much, he was an intelligent man and have smart. The hotel runs smooth because of him, I wouldn’t ask for a different marketing manager.
• I walked to the dining room to see the clients though my mind still swinging back to Aviva. Next week we will be starting doing her project except if she have asked Alex to help her insteady of me. These days it seems she doesn’t want to spend much time with me or maybe it’s part of her growing up.
• “ Afternoon Mr and Mrs Smith I hope you enjoyed your stay with us” I greeted my clients as I remember them well they are our regulars.
• “ Afternoon Taylor we wanted to thank you before we left, we will be flying to Italy next week and we will be away for a year, we thought to let you know because we won’t be coming up on weekends for the coming year”. These are some of our important clients and appreciated that they thought it important to let us know that they will be going away.
• “ Thank you very much Mr Smith, I hope you will enjoy your time at home, greet your grandchildren for me, we miss them, they always brighten this place, it has been quite since they went to Italy”
• “ we will be back with them in a year, we will come here first thing”
• “ thank you very much Mr Smith” we talked some more with my clients before I left to attend to other issues. The sun was already going down. Maybe I should go and visit Mama Maria. I always Visited Aviva’s mum twice or thrice a week. It was more like part of my duties. Though she had sons to take care of her, I just wanted to be there for her as much as I can too. She had a beautiful soul. She takes care of all the kids at home including the grandchildren whilst her co-wives are in the City doing nothing. Mama Maria has a house in the city but she rented the house out and stayed at the Village to take care of the home with her step sons and her sons. All the children loved her even when she was their stepmother she treated them all the same.
• “ Rich I’m going into the village you want to come with me “ I needed Rich today as my shield I don’t know why I always went alone but with Aviva around I’m just feeling nervous which is crazy because I have spent so much time with her in the past.
• “ ooooh yeah”
• “man please keep whatever you want to say to yourself” I cut him off before he said more.
• “ hahahahaha I just wanted to say I would love to, need to see my favorite cousin after all. You know if she was not my cousin I was going to ask her out” Rich always says whatever he wants anytime.
• “ Luck her you are her cousin then “ I smiled at him and he laughed hard.
• “ Let’s go mate before the sun set, you know if I go to the village I have to see all the girls “ Rich loved the attention he got from the girls at the village and for me I don’t like it at all.
• We drove off to Sanders’s homestead. We met Alex when he was walking from the paddocks.
• “ Hey bro I never understand why you walk when you are checking your fence why not drive the cruiser around” Rich asked his cousin and I greeted Alex before he replied Rich.
• “ Hey bro how are things in your place” I always respected Alex. He was the elder son and runs the farm so smoothly everything is always available in the farm.
• “ Hey Jack I’m cool man how is your work” he hoped into the car and we continued.
• “ All is well man we just want to see mama at home and see if there are things we can do for her tomorrow it’s weekend we are off we have plenty of time in our hands” I said to Alex.
• “ Sure man I’m sure she always have something for you to do anyway did Aviva mention her project I was going to help her man but I believe you guys made a promise to each other that you will do it together some years back. “ I can’t believe Alex still remembers that.
• “ She didn’t mention it but I remembered I will ask her when she wants to start and she will have to give me her time table so that I see when she is free”
• “ No problem man she will bring it tomorrow, you might as well start tomorrow I will take some of her chores this holiday so that she works on her project” Alex is always considerate of everyone.
• “ No problem then” we went home and talked to mama Maria and we left everyone was busy with their evening chores.
