Chapter 23 After Nightmares

- I had just finished reading the kids a bedtime story and tucked them in bed when I heard Elizabeth’s voice in the lobby. I hurried over to greet her but the smile on my face faded when I saw her being escorted by two male nurses as she frowned in pain.
- They took her into the room next to mine and all I kept hearing from the room since they wouldn’t let me in, was her occasional sobbing.
