Chapter 11 My Second Imprisonment

  • My current situation was no different from when Jiang Zhigang imprisoned me a few days
  • How stupid I am! To think that I’d actually come obediently and let him imprison me again.
  • There was no time for me to think too much. I looked around and found that my bag was gone again. Jiang Zhigang must have secretly taken it away and locked the study room without mother-in-law’s knowledge while I was asleep.
  • I searched around for something to pry open the door lock and found nothing. It looked like Jiang Zhigang had become smarter now. No wonder he said the study room was a little messy and wanted to help me to tidy it first before I entered.
  • Even though I was a little wary of him, I still let him tidy it, for the study room was indeed untidy. Not to mention that I was also a bit of a neat freak.
  • It seemed like the door could not be opened from the inside. I had no choice but to only find an opportunity to ask my mother-in-law, who had always loved me, for help.
  • I sat absent-mindedly on a study stool until dawn. Jiang Zhigang finally entered with breakfast and asked me to eat more, as though nothing had happened.
  • I looked at the bowl of congee in his hand with great vigilance. Of course I would not be so dumb as to eat it. I merely asked him whether he had any conscience. Did he really stay with me for five years just for the sake of having a child?
  • “Of course I truly love you, otherwise, why would I want to have a baby with you?"
  • He looked at me affectionately, to the point where honey could seemingly ooze out of his eyes.
  • He raised the congee and scooped a spoonful before blowing on it ‘kindly’.
  • Scoffing coldly, I pushed away the congee that he intended to feed into my mouth.
  • He frowned and looked at me anxiously, before calling me wifey and telling me that I must eat or otherwise I would starve myself.
  • I felt so revolted that I almost threw up. How could I possibly be in any mood to eat the meal he handed over?
  • “Jiang Zhigang, this congee is not for me, right? You’re just afraid that nobody would give birth to your baby if I’m starved to death!”
  • He continued to look at me with the expression that always worked on me last time, with the same affectionate tone as ever.
  • “Oh wifey, I love you so of course I hope you could give me a child.”
  • What a ludicrous joke! This man is still putting up his good-man facade now!
  • He raised the congee and walked up to me with a smile. Without warning, he grabbed my chin and proceeded to pour the hot congee into my mouth.
  • I struggled hard with all my might. If I really allowed him to pour the congee into me like that, I would inevitably be choked to death even if I were not burned to death.
  • Aiming right at his crotch, I gave a hard kick. He immediately grabbed at the place where I kicked and crouched on the ground screaming loudly in pain.
  • Seizing this opportunity, I ran out of the study room and shouted at my mother-in-law, until I finally saw her appearing in front of me.
  • With a ‘thud’, I kneeled in front of her and grabbed her clothes, begging her to help me as tears rolled down my cheeks.
  • As mother-in-law comforted me and lifted me up, I finally held back my tears.
  • “Yahan, be a good girl and stay in the study room obediently. Don’t think about divorcing at all. Just have a good life with Zhigang and give birth to a child.”
  • My eyes went wide immediately as I stared at her indifferent face in disbelief.
  • “Mom, what did you say?”
  • Her expression was calm and composed, as though it was not she who had just said the words just now.
  • I threw away her hands and looked at her in disbelief. “Mom, your son is gay! Gay! You know that? He doesn’t like woman at all! He has been deceiving me all this while!”
  • Mother-in-law’s face turned cold right away. “Of course I know, otherwise why would I let Zhigang married you in the first place? Can two men even have kids now?”
  • My head exploded in a bang! Looking at her nonchalant expression, I finally asked the last thing I wanted to ask, “So, you already knew about this? Did you join force with Jiang Zhigang to trick me?”
  • She tacitly acknowledged my words before going out with a basket to buy grocery like she always did.
  • After Wang Shufen left, I still had a look of disbelief on my face, until Jiang Zhigang finally walked over and patted my face with his hand.
  • “If it wasn’t for my mother’s condition that I had to find a woman to marry and have a child, why do you think I would marry you in the first place?"
  • He raised the bowl of congee up again and forced me to eat it.
  • I was powerless to resist.
  • Boiling hot congee was poured into my mouth, burning my originally injured tongue. The congee flowed into my stomach along the esophagus and burned my internal organs. The pain was so excruciating that I felt like I had just been thrown into boiling water.
  • The entire bowl of congee was poured into my stomach. I retched badly but could not throw up no matter what.
  • “What a good wife you are! How can you conceive a healthy baby without eating?"
  • He glanced coldly at me who was kneeling on the ground retching ceaselessly before walking out with an empty bowl, not forgetting to lock the study room tightly as he left.
  • It was not until he left that I finally burst into tears, as desperate as a bird that had its wings clipped, waiting for the moment to fall.
  • Only then did I realize that I had always been nothing but a tool in this house.
