Chapter 40

• CHRIS' POV:-
• I was sitting in the office of my school. I had a lot of unfinished work. So I was speeding up. I also had to take care of my schedules. As one night, I went home late and found Cassie sleeping on the couch. She slept on the couch while waiting for me. And because of that, I earned an amazing scolding session by both of my parents. My mom even told me that if anything like that ever happened again, she would kick me out of the mansion.
• We were living in my parents' mansion. My dad said it would be better that Cassie would be around people whom she would feel safe around. I could not just deny because I had something like that in my mind as well. She joined the work again. My father was the one who took the responsibility to take her to the office and bring her back home. He said as part of the family, he has some responsibilities as well. He finally accepted the reality that I would never get myself to take over his business. So he decided to give it to Iris whenever he would retire.
