Chapter 49 Lucid

• “Oh,” is all he can say. Liam loosens his hand on my arm and steps back. After a while, he sits heavily on the couch. “You don’t love me, huh,” he whispers.
• My heart drops as soon as I hear the defeat in his voice. I can’t help but feel a pang of regret as I look down at him. I take a deep breath to steady myself, trying to make sense of the conflicting emotions that are raging inside me.
• I am about to move to him when he says, “Based on our intimate moments together, the way you scream my name, the way you respond to my touches, and the way you cling onto me as if your very life depends on it... I really thought we had formed a bond.”
