- “Tom?” I ask. I couldn’t believe my eyes! I try to count the months. Oh damn! It’s about time for our twice-every-year seminar!
- “Since you resigned, they had no choice but to send me for the seminar,” he says, an awkward smile on his face. He sits on the stool next to me and asks, “How are you? I heard you got married?”
- “I did,” I answer, looking away as I remember our past, my heart aching.
