Chapter 2 Not So Fun

  • I paced around my room repeatedly, my mind couldn't comprehend what I just saw. A character of mine is alive or should I say, was alive. This is all too strange, really strange and I can't comprehend it. Hmm, I need to clear my head. The only way I could get that done, is by calling my sis over.
  • My sis Brendan is my only friend, she's the only one who adds sunshine and colourful rainbows to my life. Without her, my life would just be plain black.
  • I'm a nerd, a big time nerd and in this present time, no one literally wants to hang out with a nerd and I do get it.
  • I sighed, as I dialled my sister number. This is probably one of the decision I hate making. I love being alone, I love being plane Jane and I definitely do not want sparkles in my life. I love being this boring person who always spent her time, writing books and creating new ways to torture her characters. Yup, I specialize in tragic novels.
  • I definitely do not like romance or anything that has to do with a happy ending, in reality there's no happy ending and easy life, so why should I create it in the novels I write.
  • One would think I wouldn't have readers with the kind of Genre I specialize in, but that's far from the truth. I have billions of readers nationwide, and I'm earning well from my books. PS: I'm a celebrity.
  • "What happened Janice, did you get into any trouble of some kind?." Brenda asked on picking my call. I don't know why she always has this thoughts that whenever I call or visit her, it means am in some kind of trouble.
  • "Good evening to you too sis." I replied ignoring her earlier questions.
  • "Sorry, and good evening. But are you in any kind of trouble Janice, did anything bad happen?" I could hear her thumping heart from the other side of the phone, wow... Just wow.
  • "I'm fine Brenda, and nothing is wrong."
  • For about 20 seconds I got no reply from her, and I know that because I was counting.
  • "Are you sure?"
  • "Yes Brenda, I'm sure." I rolled my eyes, breathing out tiredly.
  • "Okay, if you say so. But, why are you calling me?"
  • I rolled my eyes, "You know, you should have asked that question before you started to go on with your famous *are you in any trouble* question." I snickered.
  • "That's because you don't call me unless you are in one. The last time you called me sis, was the beginning of this year, and we are in August now. And the worst part of it, is that you never pick my call. So of course I will let my mind roam, when I see your call."
  • "Well it's not my fault that I just love being alone. Anyway, I was calling to know if you would want to hang out with me, like right now." The words came out of my mouth one by one, as I let it sink into her brain.
  • 1,2,3,4,5.... "Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh." Yup, that's my sister screaming, do not be surprise.
  • "Did you just say what I think I heard. Like, you really want us t0 hang out Janice? You want to hang out with me and not your books?"
  • "Yeah, I want us to hang out and please do not say another thing that would make me regret calling you and asking for this hangout. I might just change my mind." I said dryly.
  • "No, no, no. You will not change your mind, and do you know why? That's because I won't say a thing. Anyway, I'm infront of your house... Come open the door."
  • Wait, did she just say she's infront of my house.
  • "You are infront of my house?" I asked in disbelief.
  • "Yes I am. When I saw your call, I immediately hopped into my car. I thought you were in some kind of trouble."
  • "Wow, I have a crazy sister." With that said, I hung up.. then I proceed to go open the door.
  • Just like she said, she's indeed standing infront of my door.
  • "Wow, you weren't joking." I said the obvious, taking in her appearance.
  • "Nope, I wasn't. Now go have a change of clothes so we can have that fun." She placed both her hands on my shoulder turning me around and leading me to my bedroom.
  • I resist her stronghold and instead turned around and dashed for the door. "What the heck Janice! You will not hang out with me dressed like that!." I heard Brenda yelled as she chased after me.
  • **************************************************************************************************
  • Remember when my sis said I wouldn't hang out with her, looking so bland and uncolourful. Well, guess what, I am hanging out with her... And I do look bland and uncolourful.
  • "You know, when you said you want to hang out. I was expecting something much more fun than licking ice cream." Brenda said dryly, swirling her finger on the top of her ice cream cup, out of complete boredom. What did I say? I said am a complete boring person to hang out with.
  • "This is fun to me." I replied her shrugging.
  • "Ugh...." She drawled shaking her head disappointed. "I should never have expected more."
  • "Yup, you shouldn't have." I chuckled.
  • "That is it! I'm done here!." Brenda banged her hand on the table, standing up at the same time. "Call me when you want to have some real fun." She stared down at me, like some mighty God.. snorted and then left.
  • Wow, so much for having fun.
  • With my sis gone, I couldn't possibly have that fun and company that I wanted anymore, so I stood up, paid the bill and left.
  • Driving back home, did help a little in clearing my head and helping me to be at peace. But I do wish I was actually riding my bicycle instead.
  • I got home in less than 15 minutes, I brought out my key from my bag and insert it, into the key hole.. but then I noticed something, my door is actually unlock. My door is open.
  • This is weird, Brenda told me she locked the door.. and she gave me the key, or was she in so much hurry to catch me earlier that she didn't really lock the door.
  • At this point in time, my heart was beating so rapidly fast.. but well, this is my house and I can't stand at the door forever. So I tiptoed into my house carefully, while scanning the room for any suspicious movement. I didn't see any suspicious movement, so I entered fully into my house with confidence. Brenda didn't lock the door after all.
  • I close the door behind me, and that was when I saw him... He was just walking out of my room with this full confidence, like the house is actually his... And I am the stranger.
  • "You are back. That's nice." The man said coming into full view, having this devilish grin on. He is handsome, way too handsome.
  • "Do I know you? And how did you get into my house?" I cranked my head, staring at him with so much curiosity.
  • "Yes you do, you know me Janice. In fact, you know me way more than I know myself." His grin doubled in size. Staring at him more, I realise there was something familiar about him, his devilish grin, flaming green eyes, pointed nose, beautiful structured jaw, black sleek hair, god-like body. This man here, has the exact same description of my character in one of my books... My character name is Ethan Smith and he is a villain.
  • "Ethan Smith." I whispered in denial.
  • "Nice, you remember my name. You see, I did tell you, that you know me. And guess what, I am here to take revenge Janice, for what you did to me." He walked towards me in slow dangerous step.
  • He smirked, his eyes gleaming with evil. "You should go into hiding, Janice... because you are about to become a character in my own book. PS: It's Horror with a slice of sex."
