Chapter 9

  • Damini's POV
  • " That's good, so let's have dinner for now and tomorrow you all can have the meeting, get comfortable with each other and start planning for your big and prestigious project. I have full faith in you Damini. As I would not invest so much in this project as both Samar and I don't know anything about it though I know that it is profitable. "
  • " Thank you, uncle, for having so much faith in me. I will not let you down. Tomorrow, I will study your concept, requirements and tentative plans so that I know what is to be done. We will start working tomorrow. "
  • " My friends are already here, I could not meet them today but we all are meeting tomorrow. " Samar said. We had our dinner and then, I said good night to both of them.
  • The driver dropped me at the guest house and I was about to enter the main door when I saw someone in the balcony of another room. He seemed to be a tall, well built, young man. I couldn't see his face properly as his face was turned towards the other side. But his side profile reminded me of... him. Could it be him ??
  • No, he can't be. Why would he be here? I was feeling like this as I have been thinking about him. Why was I thinking about him ?? I don't even want to talk to him.
  • I went to my suite and changed into my nightwear. I was tired and wanted to sleep but the thoughts of a certain someone kept bothering me.
  • Flashback
  • Some girl in my class informed me that he was fighting over me. He was getting irritating day by day.
  • Last day, as soon as the recess started, we all started having our food when I heard someone singing. I looked in the direction and saw him sitting on the sill of the window.
  • He was singing...
  • Mera Dil Bhi Kitna Pagal Hai...
  • Ye Pyar To Tum Se Karta Hai .
  • Par Saamne Jab Tum Aate Ho....
  • Kuch Bhi Kehne Se Darta Hai...
  • O Mere Saajan, O Mere Saajan,
  • Saajan Saajan, Mere Saajan
  • Mera Dil Bhi Kitna Pagal Hai.............
  • Kitna Isko Samajhata Hoon,
  • Kitna Isko Behlata Hoon
  • Kitna Isko Samajhata Hoon
  • Kitna Isko Behlata Hoon
  • Naadaan Hai Kuch Na Samajhata Hai,
  • Din Raat Ye Aahen Bharta Hai
  • Mera Dil Bhi Kitna........
  • I looked at him for a second but then looked away as he was looking at me with so many emotions that it scared me.
  • On the day of our first exam, our class teacher said, " As you all know that exams are here, so I will fix your seats and you all will sit according to the sitting plan for the next few days.
  • We all were disappointed but ma'am was adamant. So she started fixing the seats. And she asked Anshu to sit beside Vikram and told Sahil to come and sit beside me.
  • Shit !! No... Why???
  • There was a silence in the class. Anshu looked at me. And most of the students were looking either at me or him.
  • But I did not show any reaction. I mentally consoled myself that the teacher asked Sahil to have a seat with me and not Sagar.
  • I took a slow and deep breath but didn't want anyone to know that the sitting arrangements disturbed me. It seemed that everything was happening to slow.
  • Sahil got up from his seat and looked at his twin and they seemed to communicate in their own secret way.
  • Sahil came and sat beside me. He was sitting on the outer side of the desk as I was sitting next to a wall. It seemed that I was trapped between the wall and his large frame.
  • Ma'am continued to fix seats with other students but I kept studying to avoid any conversation. I felt a few pairs of eyes on me.
  • " Hi!! I am Sa... Sahil Malhotra. " He said extending his hand towards me.
  • " Hi, Damini Shrivastav. " I said but did not shake hands with him.
  • " You must be aware of the fact that I have a twin brother in this class. His name is Sagar," he said looking at me as if he was trying to read my expression.
  • " Is it?? No, I am not... "
  • I didn't want to say that but It came out like that. I didn't want to talk about him.
  • " Oh, ok. He is the one who is participating in the play with you. " He looked a bit disappointed.
  • " Ok," I said.
  • " He is... "
  • " Will you please, keep quiet... Sahil?" The teacher said and he straightened.
  • " Yes ma'am... " His voice was also exactly like his brother. But somehow, I felt that he was looking at me in the same way. I may be wrong though.
  • My heart was beating a bit fast. It has never happened earlier. I was a bit nervous sitting beside him.
  • The exam started... The first exam was chemistry. It was my favourite subject but still, I was a bit nervous.
  • The exam started and as there were two sets of each paper. There was a lesser chance of cheating. On top of that ma'am changed the partners.
  • I was writing my paper when after a few minutes, Sahil tapped on the desk. I looked at the teacher, she was looking in another direction. So I looked at him. He pointed towards a question in his paper.
  • I read at that, I knew the answer but I had never done cheating so shook my head.
  • " Please, I know that you know the answer. Please... " He whispered I looked at him, he was pleading with eyes.
  • " Sodium... " I whispered
  • " Thanks," he said in hushed tones.
  • I again started writing the paper. After another few minutes. He bent a bit towards me, I jerked away.
  • " What?? "
  • " Sorry to startle you... Please tell me this one. "
  • " No... "
  • " No means ?? "
  • " Means no... "
  • " You don't know the answer or won't tell? "
  • " I don't know."
  • " Liar... "
  • " Ok... I won't tell... "
  • " Please..." He caught my left hand as he was sitting on my left side. I saw that the teacher was busy talking with another teacher at the door of the class.
  • " What is your problem? "
  • " Question no 11... I already told you... " he said innocently.
  • " I mean why are you holding my hand? " I glared at him.
  • " Do you want me to shout at the top of my voice to plead with you to help me? " He whispered coming near me.
  • " Ughhh... Shut up and let me write... Just leave my hand. "
  • " No... First, you tell me... Please... please.."
  • " Ok, leave my hand." he was as irritating as his brother. I looked at his brother and saw him grinning along with his friends. Weird...
  • " First you tell."
  • " Ughhh... Ok... But don't try this again or I will tell ma'am. " I told him and he nodded. I told him the answer and finally, he released my hand...
  • After the exam was over....and the teacher went out I turned to him and asked, " What was that? "
  • " What was what? "
  • " That stunt of holding my hand? "
  • " Calm down yaar... I just wanted to know the answer to that question. "
  • " But I didn't want to tell. You can't do that... "
  • " Ok, fine !! Sorry, but please do help me in other papers as well. "
  • " Forget about that... "
  • " But why... ? "
  • " What do you mean by that? Exams are going on... I don't want to tell you anything... If you try anything like that. I will give you a tight slap or tell the teacher. "
  • " If you don't mind, then please give me a slap. I don't mind.. " He said with a smile. Idiot!! He said that and all his friends and brother laughed.
  • A bunch of idiots... All of them, especially that Sagar.
  • " You... You... You are an idiot... "
  • " Ok... Anything you say. You may call me whatever you want. "
  • " Ugghhhh..." I said and he laughed again. I just caught Anshu's hand and left the room.
  • Somehow, I felt that it was Sagar and not his brother, who was sitting with me. But why? Anyway, Anshu kept grinning at me when I told her what happened.
