Chapter 10

• Damini's POV
• Flashback...
• Somehow, I felt that it was Sagar and not his brother who was sitting with me. But why? Anyway, Anshu kept grinning at me, when I told her what happened.
• My friendship with Anshu was becoming strengthened day by day. We had joined the physics tuition together which was very close to her place. I used to go to tuition only half an hour after school, so I used to go to Anshu's place straight from school and then go to tuition together.
• So I was getting very comfortable with her family as well. Her parents were very cute and she had an elder brother and an annoying younger sister.
• Her brother, Vikas bhaiya, was very sweet and always treated me as he used to treat Anshu. We used to annoy him a lot.
• He was very particular that we must not keep our hair loose or untied. We were getting annoyed at him but he said that he didn't want, stupid boys following his sisters. He used to make us tie our hair. Ughhhh... irritating elder brother. Anshu and I used to have a verbal fight with him every day.
• Anshu and I came out of the school after it was over and we saw Vikas bhai in front of our school. We both saw him and went to meet him. He smiled when he saw us.
• " What are you doing here? " Anshu asked him.
• " Mom had to go to see our grandma as she was not feeling well. So she told me to pick you up from school and drop you there as well. "
• " Ok... "
• " As far as I remember, you had tied your hair in the morning how come they are open now?? "
• " Bhai my band was loose, I lost it. So... "
• " Hmm... get some new ones... " He said and we both nodded. We didn't dare to look at each other as we would have started laughing. We usually changed our hairstyles after leaving her home... as her brother wanted us to go to school in pigtails.
• " So how was your day?"
• " Good as always... "
• " Damini, where is my chocolate ?? You lost that bet yesterday..." He asked and I knew he was going to ask for that, so I already had it in my bag. I would have given it to him at home but as he asked for it, I took out the chocolate and gave it to him."
• " What?? No arguments, No fights?? Are you Damini or someone else? Are you not well?? " He touched my forehead and then my cheeks with the back of his hand.
• " I am absolutely fine... " I said to him.
• You don't have a fever. Did you get an electric shock?? You are not annoying me... Are you upset? Did anything happened today ?" He held my hand and looked concerned. I shook my head.
• " Are you sure?? You know you can tell me if you are in any problem? " He asked and I smiled at him. He released my hand and opened the wrapper of the chocolate and divided it into three parts and offered them to us. Both Anshu and I took one part each.
• From the corner of my eye, I saw that Sagar and his friends were looking at us. I saw that Sagar was looking furious. What was his problem?
• Just then we saw, Yash coming out of school and he came towards us smiled at Vikas Bhai.
• " Hi, bhaiya !! how are you?? " He greeted Vikas bhaiya.
• " Hey Yash, I am good. How are you and how is that stupid brother of yours? It seems he is too busy to call his friend."
• " No, it's just that he is out of station for a week. "
• " Oh... ok..."
• " But what are you doing here?" Yash asked him.
• " I came to pick up my sister. " He answered looking at us.
• " Your sister ?? Which one ?? " Yash was looking at us. He looked shocked.
• " What do you mean by which one? Both are my sisters, though I came to pick up Anshu. By the way... Yash, you are the head boy of the school? " Bhai asked and he nodded.
• " Then please take good care of my sisters. " He said with a smile.
• " Yeah... Sure. "
• " Oh, don't bother bhaiya, we can take care of ourselves. Just a few days back a senior was trying to be very smart, but he got hurt and learnt a new lesson. Yash bhaiya knows about it. I hope you remember, Yash bhaiya? " I was smirking at him. He made a face when I called him bhaiya. Anshu and I couldn't control and we giggled.
• " Yes, they are self-sufficient and smart. Don't worry they can handle anything and yet if you need any help, please let me know..." He said to bhaiya and said bye to all of us and left.
• " A very nice boy..." Bhai said and we tried to hide our smiles.
• " Yes. " We said.
• " Let's go, Anshu. " He said and they both went away. I also started my kinetic and left but not before looking at the sulking face of someone. It looked he wanted to kill someone.
• The very next day, we had a maths exam. Again, that Sahil or whoever he was, sitting next to me.
• The exam started and I was doing my paper when I got stuck on some question. I tried to solve it, but could not do it. I had a habit of ticking the questions I had done. I tried it thrice and then I circled it and started doing the next question. I got stuck at another one and circled that as well.
• Half an hour was still left so I tried to solve those two questions. I was getting impatient and I stopped trying and buried my face in my hands and took a deep breath.
• I was still trying to figure out my mistake when he tapped near my paper. I was already irritated so I looked at him and asked, " What?? "
• With an annoying expression.
• He tapped on my question paper where he had written the step where I did the mistake. I read that and realised my mistake. I was amazed at how he saw that I was struggling with a question and he knew exactly where I made the mistake. I looked at the teacher she was checking the answer sheets of previous papers.
• I wanted to thank him but he again started scribbling on my paper and saw the step of another question where I made mistake by replacing one digit by another. I looked at it and banged my head with my hand and smiled at my silly mistake.
• I smiled and thanked him and he smiled back and kept doing his paper. I corrected my mistake and revised the paper.
• Once the answer sheets were collected, the teacher left the classroom. Though I had never cheated till date, today I was thankful for his help.
• I turned to him and said thanks to him.
• " Anything for you... " He said with a smile.
• I couldn't help smiling.
• " But, how did you know, where I made the mistake or in which questions? "
• " Well, it was not like rocket science... I saw that you circled that question and then saw that you tried it again but again crossed it so I checked while you were trying again. "
• " But why??? Like... you should have concentrated on your paper, I mean you wasted your precious time."
• " I did not waste time... "
• " What?? How?? "
• " Let it be... " He said
• " No, but I am curious... "
• " Let's put it this way... Yesterday you were yelling and threatened me that you will give me a tight slap and today you are thanking me with a smile. You are even curious about me. So... See, I did not waste my time." He said and smiled at me. I tried to hide my smile but I think he saw it.
