Chapter 23 A New Friend

• Florence and Joyce came down from where they were and went to were Obed was eaten. Florence saw the dead and the cloth Obed wore. She looked at the cloth and turned to the alien and from the look of things, she was in a sad mood and a bad mood. Florence then took her weapon and slashed it across the dead alien's neck.
• Florence wept bitterly and said, he was right, Obed was right all along. Joyce didn't want to ask Florence what she meant at this time so she hugged Florence. Soon, tears begun to flow from both girls tears. As they were crying, Michael who had runned past Obed, Florence and Joyce came back looking for them. As he was wandering around the planet, he found Florence and Joyce hugging each other close to the dead alien. When Michael got near, Florence pulled out her weapon aiming at Michael. If you dare come close to me, I'll kill you, she said whiles weeping. Michael didn't understand what Florence was doing. As he got a little closer, Joyce pushed Michael back to avoid getting hurt by the sad and angry Florence.
• Michael then asked Joyce why they were all weeping and that were was Obed. Joyce took the ripped cloth from Joyce and handed it over to Michael. Michael was bamboozled when he saw the ripped cloth. That's Obed's cloth, said Michael. Is he dead? Joyce then bowed her head and Michael understood what it meant.
