Chapter 142- I need a good, highly skilled detective

  • After disconnecting the call, Daniel Brooke walked to his study and locked the room. He sat straight on his chair, clenching his fists tight, which were placed on the table. His solemn gage was firmly fixed on a certain point on the opposite wall. He was thinking about how to deal with Mr. Mayor. He couldn’t even touch a single strand of his hair without strong evidence, and this was not something that Derek could do. For this, he must hire a professional detective who had the guts to go against Mr. Mayor. But he didn’t know anyone like this.
  • Frustrated, he took out the cigarette packet from the drawer and lit one. He opened his laptop and started looking for private detective agencies. His hand holding the cigarette butt was shaking. After checking many agencies, he snorted and closed the laptop, feeling irritated. He didn’t like anyone’s profile. Extinguishing the cigarette, he lit another one and started smoking again. He rubbed his forehead, keeping the elbow on the table. Helplessness swept in his mind as he couldn’t find any solution.
  • When his all hopes started dying, a name popped up in his mind. His eyes shone brightly in anticipation. He grabbed his phone and dialed a number. The call connected after a few rings, and he heard a deep male voice, “Hey Daniel… How are you? How did you remember me after a long time?” This person was the chief inspector of ‘X’ city and was his classmate in school.
