• Carl Black instantly looked up and saw Daniel Brooke smiling slyly at him. He frowned, and his gaze drifted at Lisa briefly. She was sitting just opposite him. Her hands, holding the journal, started shaking to hear Daniel Brooke’s voice. Her heart started beating faster, and she held the journal tightly to subdue the nervousness. She peeked at him and slightly raised the magazine to hide her face completely.
• Carl Black’s face reflected displeasure and asked, looking up at him, “Yes. Can’t I come here?”
• Daniel Brooke chuckled and sat down beside him, saying, “You can go anywhere as you wish. I was a little surprised to see you here. That’s why I asked. Don’t mind.”
