Chapter 7 Gong Zemu Rescued Her

  • He maintained his composure, sturdy and firm, exuding confidence in his dashing off-road vehicle.
  • He was whom Song Shenglan had just met 10 minutes ago, Gong Zemu.
  • He looked at the lighter in her hand and raised his eyebrow.
  • Song Shenglan laid her gaze upon the lighter then put it back in her pocket calmly. With a grateful heart, she said, “Thank you for saving me, Mr. Gong. Your car bumper though…”
  • Just as she was about to offer a compensation, Gong Zemu interrupted her, “It’s fine.” His voice was cold and hard.
  • His deep magnetic voice was pleasing to the ears, however, she felt tensed at the hearing of it.
  • He winded up his car window and sped off into the darkness.
  • Song Shenglan let out a sigh of relief then sped up her walking speed just so she could get out of this place soon.
  • On her way back, she checked the calendar and realized that today was the 7th day after her passing.
  • She had never believed in the myth that claimed all spirits would return on the 7th day after its’ passing, but now she did.
  • She was born in Ning Nation but now she had woken up in Hua Nation. She wondered if it was the sea that brought her to this unfamiliar country.
  • Song Shenglan held back her mixed feelings and surfed on a variety of news.
  • Three years ago, she was held captive by Chu Yilun. Although there was a television in her room, however, she knew very little about what happened during the three-year period.
  • As Song Shenglan followed up on the news, her knowledge of the current situation became clearer.
  • The operations of Hai Sheng Group were established long ago, thus the company did not fall into a hard time when the former CEO passed away all of a sudden.
  • Three years after Chu Yilun took over the company, the strategies and development of the company went well according to its original plan.
  • However, Song Shenglan knew that Chu Yilun had replaced most of the employees in the company over the years with his allies. The entire Hai Sheng Group was under his control now.
  • Although Hai Sheng Group was involved in various industries, however, technology was still their core business. They focused on artificial intelligence especially in these few years.
  • On the other hand, Hua Nation had just begun to focus on technology development in recent years, thus its strength in the field was incomparable to Ning Nation’s. Although Gong family’s Tian Gong Group were in the process of inventing an autonomous vehicle, their technology trailed far behind to that of Hai Sheng Group’s.
  • Clearly her previous comrades did not work under other firms after she passed away.
  • Song Shenglan’s hope was slowly diminishing. Chu Yilun, who was the CEO of Hai Sheng now, had the absolute power and advantage in the business world of Ning Nation.
  • Similarly, Gong family had a superior status in Hua Nation. What if she joined Tian Gong Group and used Tian Gong Group to fight against Chu Yilun?
  • She didn’t want to hire a hitman to go after Chu Yilun, no, of course not, not so easy. She devised a slow and painful revenge for him. She would reveal the true colors of Chu Yilun to the world. She would make him pay a hefty price for the pain he had inflicted upon her and her family.
  • Song Shenglan’s phone rang as she entered the school gate. She looked at her phone screen and saw the call was from Yu Chenwei’s father, Yu ChengZhi.
  • Yu Chengzhi was fierce on the other end of the call, “Yu Chenwei, are you out of the Gong family house?”
  • Song Shenglan learnt from the memory of Yu Chenwei that Yu Chenwei’s parents had divorced long ago. Although her father had never treated her nicely, she was obedient towards Yu Chengwei, probably in hopes of gaining his recognition.
  • It was obvious that her father knew his plan for her to hit it off with Mr. Gong had foiled.
  • “Yes.” She responded calmly.
  • Yu Chengzhi was furious, “Didn’t you make use of the wine I gave you? How could you miss out such an opportunity?”
  • Song Shenglan shivered. What kind of father would intentionally drug his own daughter just so she could be taken advantage of and eventually sleep with a rich man? The kind that’s a total scumbag!
  • After a moment of silence, Yu Chengzhi slammed, “Since you’re not able to get into the Gong family, then you shall be married to your second brother-in-law.
