Chapter 15

Few hours into my sleep, I was up, reminiscing about the whole thing. I tried forcing myself to bed but I couldn’t get good sleep so I decided to keep myself busy at least to ward off brain-damaging thoughts. In the course of getting things done, I saw Lila perfectly arranged on the couch like sardine. I felt sorry for her, I shouldn’t have reflected my present situation on her. I went back inside the room to pick a duvet, at least to rescue her from the night adversaries. I don’t know what Lila did to me, but I can’t stand seeing her in pain.
