Chapter 5 No Interest to Playing

  • Rain looked around the whitewashed house in awe. Forth patted his shoulder gently. "Very good, isn't it? You like it?"
  • "I love it," Rain answered in awe. "The owner must have put a very high price on it."
  • "They sold it," Forth replied calmly. "My brother will buy it and we will rent it to him, at a lower price of course, if you want."
  • Rain turned to Forth with wide eyes. "Wow, Forth, are you serious?"
  • "Hm," Forth nodded. "My brother is starting a new business in real estate and I think he thinks this house is a good investment. Besides, he's been wanting to buy me an apartment for a long time, but I always refuse."
  • "Why did you refuse?"
  • "Well, I just wanted to show that I can afford an apartment or house on my own. Sometimes I feel embarrassed because they spoil me too much."
  • Rain looked at Forth with a big smile on his face. "You really are unpredictable, Forth. You're a prince but refuse the perks your kingdom gives you? You must be a rare creature, Forth."
  • "Hey, I just want to prove myself that I can be as good as my brothers. My parents, all my brothers, even I think the whole big family thinks I'm a little kid who needs to be cared for and pampered all the time. I don't like that. When I really need help them, still I work hard to pay for them. Motorcycles are an example."
  • "Your motorbike is very expensive, Forth. Did you buy it yourself?"
  • "I borrowed money from my father to buy it, then I paid for it with my own money, when I won a robot making competition for two or three years in a row during middle and high school. I also worked part time in my uncle's workshop every vacation and after three years I even paid back my father's money with interest."
  • "Your father received your money?"
  • "Of course. He appreciated my efforts and rewarded me with a new pair of tires after I paid off the money."
  • Rain laughed amused at Forth's story. He admired Forth's persistence in hardwork even though he knew that he could ask his parents or brother to fulfill his wishes. Forth is a hard worker. No wonder he can lead so many people.
  • "This house has too many rooms for the two of us, Forth."
  • "Don't worry. Phi Wind will only rent us two rooms, because he needs one room to store his things. The other room can be left empty for emergency purposes. How about it?"
  • "How about the price?"
  • "Don't worry Rain, I'll talk to him."
  • Rain thought for a moment, then nodded with a beaming face. "Wow, this must be our lucky day. Why haven't we seen this house since yesterday, Forth? We wandered here and there for three days with no luck."
  • "I only found out about this house yesterday."
  • "When can we move here?"
  • "I think we'll be able to move in next week. I'll meet up with Phi Wind on Monday morning and have a technical talk with him. He will pay this house to the owner on Tuesday and our family lawyer will take care of the papers soon."
  • "Tell me the price and I'll transfer my share of the rent after that."
  • Forth patted Rain's arm and pointed to the plastic Rain had placed on the dining table. "What did you bring, Beam?"
  • "Beer and snacks. I thought we'd be walking around again like before, so I decided to buy some snacks."
  • "How about we go back to my apartment now and finish the beer and whatever you bought there. I have a lot of movies I'd like to see. Or do you want to go to the bar? It's Saturdaynight and it's still too early to go home and sleep."
  • "I... had no interest in playing at the bar anymore after the professors tortured me with assignments. I once went to the bar and came home so drunk I forgot the homework I had to submit on Monday. I got a C in that class and had to repeat the class, which is unbelievably boring. Since then I've decided to stop going to bars just to spend the weekend."
  • Forth burst out laughing at Rain's words. He heard a lot of girls he knew questioning why Rain was no longer seen at the bar that Forth and his group used to go to, as well as Pharm and his group. Everyone knows Pharm and Kit already have boyfriends and they are busy with their respective boyfriends. But everyone also knows that Rain is single.
  • At first Forth thought he was changing to another bar, maybe looking for a new atmosphere, but Rain actually stopped playing.
  • "Let's go to my place. I think you'll like Attack on Titan, hm?"
  • "I've reached the second season of episode 4," concluded Rain enthusiastically. "You watched it too?"
  • "I wonder, how can we possibly have so much in common? I'm also only in the second season of episode 5. Don't worry, I'm going back to episode 4 because I have a few things I want to clarify."
  • Rain grabbed Forth's hand and grabbed the plastic filled snacks on the table. "Come on."
  • Forth looked at his hand that was in Rain's grip and suddenly his heart was racing twice as fast. He also felt something tickle his stomach, causing a strange sensation.
  • "I have to return the keys of this house first to the security guard in front of the complex," Forth said nervously. He hoped Rain didn't hear the quiver in his voice.
  • Rain hugged Forth very tightly as they drove home. His jacket was thin and the night air was beginning to feel chilly. Forth felt warm because Rain hugged him, but Rain started sneezing when they got to Forth's apartment.
  • “Ahhchoo…, ugh, looks like I caught a cold,” Rain muttered.
  • Forth opened the bedroom door. He grabbed Rain's shoulder and led him into the room. He sat Rain on the soft sofa in front of the large television that was attached to the wall and rushed to get the blanket from the room.
  • Forth opened Rain's jacket and wrapped Rain in the thick blanket like a cocoon, while Rain didn't move, too surprised by what Forth had done to him.
  • Forth held Rain's forehead with his palm. "You don't have a fever. It's just the wind, which makes you sneeze. Wait here. I'll make warm ginger tea for you. My mother always makes ginger tea for me when I sneeze."
  • Rain wanted to restrain Forth, but for some reason, he was happy to see Forth and watching him in such a way. He felt warm just by staring at Forth's broad back as he made tea for him.
  • Forth brought hot and fragrant ginger tea in a large glass with a small spoon. Rain reached out to take the glass from Forth's hand, but Forth refused to give the glass.
  • "Put your hands under the covers, Rain. I'll blow and feed you. Just a minute. Let me put the film on so you can watch it while you finish this ginger tea and I'm sure your sneezing will go away."
  • Rain stared at Forth, admiring the profile of his very handsome face and warm kindness. Rain blushed and felt something tickle in his stomach, creating a pleasant sensation. Rain sure, this weekend will be very fun.
