Chapter 38 HOME

• The harsh knock on the door made me wake up brutally. I want to ignore it, but the insisting is pissing me off. “Yes!”, I yell with annoyance, only for it to stop. “Wake up already!”, it’s Adam, and he sounds cranky. I roll my eyes and get out of bed, trying to get ready as quickly as possible. 
• I run downstairs, only to find Adam there, bags underneath his eyes, pale face, and a mood that I do not wish I have to face. “My God princess, you like taking your sweet time”, he makes a comment as I pass by him. I stop and take a big breath, not wanting to comment on that. I will just let it slide.
