Chapter 7

  • ALEXANDER
  • They were at it again.
  • There wasn’t a day that went by that my parents didn’t argue about unimportant matters.
  • They must have forgotten they had a child who could pick up on their bad behavior. I wished they’d just get a divorce and move on with their separate lives.
  • I mostly blamed them for how I turned out.
  • Growing up, they didn’t care how I did at home, I was always left alone with the maids and a nanny who would take care of my needs. They were indifferent about my grades or anything else going on at school. All they cared about was going on business trips to different countries. Their time at home was spent exchanging unpleasant words with one another.
  • I grew up with no idea what it was like to be loved by my parents or what was the meaning of love. My nanny was the only one who ever showed me love, but I found out that to be a lie when she sexually assaulted me.
  • I cried and told my parents about it several times, but they dismissed it as me making up stories to get them to spend more time with me. Since then, I started hating my parents and came to hate myself too. My nanny continued with it until she was caught in the act by my father and later turned over to the police.
  • I am now twenty-one years old and in my second year of college, and still, nothing has changed; they continue to travel for business and try to make up for their absence with money. As if that's what I wanted most in my life.
  • I just wanted them to be like other parents. They assumed that any conversation I had with them was about money, so instead of listening to me, Dad would simply send me money. Mum was different in that, while she did the same things as Dad, she always kissed me on the forehead, leaving me all empty inside and none of them ever considered my feelings.
  • When I heard something crash to the ground, I knew it was one of their heated arguments that would end with Mum thrashing the house. The maids would have a lot of cleaning to do after them once they are done arguing.
  • You’d think that after this, they’d file for divorce, but the next day, they’d act as if nothing had happened and smile like they are the best and perfect couple in the world.
  • I rolled out of bed, stretched, and went to the bathroom. I originally planned to rest at home today before going to school because my class wasn’t until 10 a.m., but due to the argument, I decided to leave earlier so I could think in peace.
  • Coming out of the bathroom, I put on a blue hoodie and black jean trousers, matching them with black canvas shoes, before heading out to the living room, where they were still at each other’s throats.
  • They had made a mess of the living room.
  • I was sick and tired of everything, especially how they kept ruining my mood.
  • “Can’t you just get a divorce? This is getting old, and I’m already sick of it. Just get a divorce and save these poor maids from having to clean up after you!” I yelled, startling both of them.
  • They looked up at me in surprise. From the looks of them, they had just arrived from who knows where.
  • “You’re still around, son?” My dad asked.
  • “No, I’m not,” I said, not caring if he detected the sarcasm in my voice, I was going to put an end to it all. Without waiting for his response, I walked towards the door and then stopped before turning to look at them. “Please tell me when you decide to divorce and keep in mind that I would rather live alone than with people who prioritize work over their child. Do send me a copy of your divorce papers.“
  • I stormed out of the house, ignoring both of their calls, then got into my car and drove away. My mood was completely ruined, but I hoped that the rest of the day would be better.
  • “Hey Siri, call Nathan,” I said to my phone’s virtual assistant.
  • “Calling Nathan.”
  • It was a few seconds before Nathan answered the call. “Yo bro, I’m surprised you called. I thought you’d be at home resting before class.”
  • I scoff, trying to forget what happened earlier. “Something came up that I don’t want to talk about yet. Where are you? I need you to reach out to others.”
  • “We just got to school.”
  • “Wait for me. I‘m close by. I can see the school’s entrance.” I told him before hanging up.
  • Nathan and I became friends because our parents were both business partners, and Nathan introduced me to others.
  • Nathan and I became friends because our parents were business partners, and Nathan introduced me to Aaren and Beckham. The four of us were known as ‘F4; which meant the famous four.’
  • I didn’t like the title at first, but I quickly grew used to it after being named captain of the football team and becoming the center of attraction, with the girls willing to give their bodies to me without having to sweat for it like most of the ‘low-class guys like I call them.
  • When I got to school, I parked in my empty parking space. My friends were already waiting for me, and I noticed the girls who weren’t in class started running in our direction.
  • I wasn’t in the mood to choose a girl who would be beside me today and possibly end up warming my bed; instead, I wanted to spend some alone time with the boys and probably tell them what was going on with my parents and I would be moving into an apartment soon after they divorced or even before they divorced.
  • We walked faster, trying to outrun the girls and as soon as we walked into the hall, I slipped the janitor some money to get rid of the girls. He smiled brightly as he took the money, then poured water on the floor.
  • I laughed when I heard the girls complain, and continued my walk to our hangout through the locker section when someone bumped into me.
  • It was a girl and her belongings were scattered on the floor as a result of the crash.
  • This just ruined an already bad day. I made fists with my hands. I wasn’t the type to hit women, but that didn’t stop me from bullying and teasing them until they repaid me in some way—most likely with their bodies.
  • “I-I’m sorry.” She apologized meekly without looking me in the eyes.
  • I wasn’t going to accept it: if she accidentally bumped into me, she should at least look me in the eyes when she apologizes.
  • “What is your name?”
  • Before she could respond, Aaren leaned in and whispered loudly into my ear, “Her name is Katherine Thrones. She is our coursemate; she rarely interacts with others.”
  • A quiet one. What would I do to break her? It would be fun.
  • From prior experience, I knew that the more quiet they were, the more skilled they were. This Katherine would be no exception.
  • “Hmm, I see,” I smirked at Aaren before turning my gaze to the girl. She wasn’t the type of girl I usually went for, but it wouldn’t hurt to try something different. She wasn’t unattractive. She could look like the other girls with make-up, a new hairstyle, and a change of clothes.
  • I moved in closer, bringing my lips to her ear, which I knew worked on most girls, and whispered, “I like you and I want you.”
  • She flinched and stepped back, giving me a ridiculous look.
  • I said it again, this time more firmly and assertively. I knew I’d gotten her because her face changed to a stunned expression.
  • It took her a few moments to gather herself and respond. “Sorry! I’m not interested in any relationship, and even if I was, I don’t like you or anything that has to do with you. Please excuse me; I’m late for class.”
  • She was about to walk away, holding her books closer to her chest, when I grabbed her arm and pulled her to me.
  • “You’re more exciting than I expected,” I whispered in her ear.
  • “W-What do you want from me?”
  • I laughed as she stammered. I hadn’t expected her to cave so easily. This would be interesting.
  • “I want all of you. You’re going to be my new toy.” I smirked as I looked her in the eyes.
  • “You’re crazy! I’ll never be an instrument of yours or be one of those psychos who are always running after you. Neither will I be added to your list of girls you’ve slept with!”
  • Her outburst piqued my interest even more. I couldn’t wait to have her all to myself so I could devour her.
  • “We’ll see about that cupcake. Be prepared because you will eventually be mine. I will make sure I bend you until you become mine” Before walking away, I blew her a kiss on the cheek.
  • I walked away with a smile on my face, knowing that sooner or later I will have her on my bed in no time. The day was already looking good.
