Chapter 13

  • "I think I like you more..."My jaw dropped. I felt like all of a sudden, butterflies were tickling my stomach right now. "Because you act maturely but inside, you are childish." He chortled and continued eating. I felt like someone had thrown me a bucket of ice with water. My ears panted with his words he just spotted. I processed his words on my head and snapped back to dart him a glare. This man... This freaking man is such an... "Asshole," I said, couldn't help but retort with a remark. Sebastian stopped in the mid-way and glanced at me with amusement in his eyes. "Feisty as always, Ms. Merrywheather." I squinted my eyes at him and took the fork to stab the meat whilst looking at him. I don't care if he would fire me at this moment. The mere fact that he insulted what I just nurtured was making my blood boiled. "If looks could kill, you'll be dead meat right now." Sir Sebastian just chuckled at my remark. "Why, yes, but certainly I didn't." I hissed silently just by seeing a playful smile tattered on his lips. I couldn't help rolling my eyes and shook my head. I ignored him for the rest of our dinner while he was trying to persuade me to return from before unlike what I was doing for the whole year. "You're enjoying this, aren't you?" I asked. My mask was starting to slip off and I knew that at any moment I couldn't stop myself from saying sarcastic words at him. His lips curled with a smile again. "To be honest, it is much more like it. This is making me glad that you are not a robot anymore." He released a cackle again. I furrowed my eyebrows, noticing him right now. Then I grinned afterward. "Says the one who is always grumpy and I almost can say that is a sign of aging." He raised his eyebrow with amusement in his eyes but he didn't utter a word. "Just a piece of advice, Sebastian. Minimize being so hot headed and being grumpy, you'll grow old so fast." Then I plastered a sweet smile before immediately disappearing it and continued finishing my dinner. I didn't hear anything from him but complete silence. I gulped and slowly looked up to see his reaction. He has a stoic expression on his face, his lips were pursed, and his shoulders were shaking. Confused, I gave him a weird look. Then suddenly, Sebastian laughed boisterously. I was surprised by that. All of the people around here in the dining hall were looking at us. I frowned and shot him a glare as his laugh slowly died and he ended up smiling while finishing his meal. And that left me starstruck. I gasped loudly and pointed at him. "Oh my goodness... You smiled!" I said shockingly. He smirked. "Rejoice for you will see me smiling once in a blue moon." My jaw dropped and that made me huff. He is being cocky, alright. "You know what? It is much better if I'll see you being grumpy all day." Frowning, I took a sip from my glass. I regret that I said those words. I couldn't help shaking my head, sighing. He cackled and didn't reply to what I said. II remained to frown until we finished our meal. We were heading out to his hotel suite room in which I am also staying there. It was supposed to be renting two rooms but instead, this man beside me upgraded it to a hotel suite with two separate rooms for a bedroom. I held the card key and swiped it. I let Sebastian come in first but he refused. I shot him a glare then let myself enter. I placed down all my belongings to the living room and went straight to his bedroom. It is my job to prepare his next suit that he is going to wear tomorrow. It is gonna be a hectic day for the two of us. I opened his cabinet and settled the navy blue suit that he is going to wear tomorrow. I felt his presence passing by me and he went to his bed, sitting right there and watched me. Feeling awkward, I managed to finish preparing his clothes for tomorrow then I turned at him. "Navy blue suit, alright? It is all here in the cabinet. Have a good evening," I said politely which made him frown a little. I returned to my room and started undressing myself to take a quick shower. I was getting ready to sleep when I forgot to have them bring a glass of milk. I dialed the receptionist's number and asked them for a glass of milk, a cup of coffee, and two glasses of water. "Thank you," I said politely after they delivered it fifteen minutes later. I took the cup of coffee that was on the saucer to Sir Sebastian's room. II knocked first before I twisted the doorknob. I caught Sir Sebastian browsing on his laptop again then closed it when he saw me. He raised his eyebrow, not uttering a word to question me. As always. He is being like that. But just seeing him right now made me feel uncomfortable about what he said a while ago. It was so stupid of him to say those things to me. His words kept ringing and repeating in my head. "I brought you some cups of coffee," I said and welcomed myself. I placed it on his bedside table. I looked down and Sir Sebastian was looking up at me. He was watching me silently. Now I get the feeling of towering over him. "I have something to tell." I frowned at his answer by arching his eyebrow but still, he was looking at me. I slit my eyes then placed my hands on my hips. "Care to consider my itinerary?" I asked mockingly. I already have a chance. He needs to consider it. Of all the things I spent an effort on here in my job, the itinerary is my favorite to do. Sir Sebastian scoffed with a smile. "You know it's futile, Ms. Merryweather." I gritted my teeth. This man... He would waste my effort again. "No. You're not going to waste my effort again, Mr. Huntington," I said, crossing my arms over my chest. "Ho? Is Cejay Merryweather going to scold me?" He had this annoying smirk right now. I smiled mercilessly. "If I am, what are you going to do?" I asked. < I'm tired. I'm tired of being an obedient person for this person. He has no idea that his ideology always gets on my nerves. From now on, I will stop being the person I nurtured for a year. "Are you that desperate to have me consider your itinerary?" "Yes. You'd been rejecting all of the itineraries I made. You're getting old and grumpy so you need to wind up, Sir Sebastian." That's it. I already risked my job. I'm so sick that I cannot voice out some of my opinions before. I looked at him deadly to see him that I am serious and I am not going to back away this time. He snickered after a moment. "Alright. Brief me tomorrow evening about your itinerary." "Wait. What?" I was stunned and couldn't believe what he had just said. "I am agreeing. Isn't that the reason why you came here? Bringing me coffee is just an excuse, correct?" My jaw dropped for a moment then I closed it. How did he deduce it? How could he tell? I flashed a crooked face and sighed. "Am I that obvious?" Hissing, I twitched my lips afterward. His lips curled up into a smirk. "For the whole year of being my personal assistant, I already know how you work, Cejay." My breath slowly hitched upon the mere mentioning of my first name. It wasn't supposed to affect me but every time he would say my name, he sounded like he was talking dirty to me. I simply pinched myself, surprised by what I was thinking right now. What the hell did I just say to my mind? That was so sudden! "For the whole year of being your personal assistant, this is the very first time you agreed to consider my itinerary," I scoffed and rolled my eyes. I even crossed my arms over my chest. It was inappropriate to show myself in front of Sir Sebastian wearing my sleepwear. Good thing he was also wearing one. "Why did you change your mind though?" It is weird that yes, I appreciate that he agreed but why, of all times, he would decide now? "What makes you change your mind?" I couldn't help but add. He took a sip on his coffee before he laid his oceanic blue orbs on me. "Why, yes, it is because you have become more interesting right now, Cejay. Like I said earlier, this side of yours makes everything interesting. What you nurtured for the whole year is platonic and dull." I looked at him in disbelief. "You're unbelievable!" I stormed out of his room, couldn't believe that he just said those words again. "You're an asshole!" I yelled it while walking back to my room. He burst out a deep loud hearty laugh the moment I closed the door of my room. I shook my head, frowning while drinking my almost cooled milk. "Jerk," I mumbled, pouting. But I kind of admit. This was the second time I heard him hearing laughing boisterously. "It's kinda cute..." I bit my lower lip, smiling a little.
