Chapter 22 Moving Forward

• Rachel now in her own office upstate New York after months of recovery and now having her baby, who was now two months old. Jason's office was next to hers. He had left the service and had taken courses at the local trade school for commercial electric plus assisting Rachel in her work. she was working on her book going over her ordeal along with her childhood. She had put a hold on the reality television show for at least a year which would be up next month. She and Jason still had the ranch which she visited every month, but she needed a break from living there after what had happened. The day that Vincent was shot, she had believed he was killed only he was revived. The mother of Eve was only convicted of attempted murder and assault with a deadly weapon. Rachel started back into acting with a television show as a young detective. Which was why she jumped on the chance and opportunity to move to New York City. Though she loved her home at the ranch it held too many memories that she was just now ready to face. Their home was connected to their office with security and the building had their own security which was why Rachel had chosen the building. Her baby girl named Heidi was asleep in her bassinet. Jason had gotten Rachel a dog they had trained to be both defense and therapy, so whenever he had to go on a job, he knew his wife and child were protected. Plus, Rachel had her gun in her desk and one in her purse. Months after Rachel's abduction she and her brother, Nicholas had made an amends. He did confide to Jason that he was jealous of his sister which was mainly his own issue. Now Nicholas had his sister to help him get more jobs into acting. There were a few times he was on his sister's show. When Jason was doing work, Nicholas would be with his sister to help out in the office or if she had an anxiety attack, he was there. Rachel and her family became even closer what had taken place. Rachel looking out the window and though she didn't see her horses or the country, she knew that being here gave her a chance to get help and she would be returning to the ranch. she had to admit she missed her family. Even though her family visited her and even her little sister came up here to live from time to time so that she could advance her musical career. her little sister Lisa was starting to get into opera and auditioning to be on stage. Dillion didn't care for acting or being on stage however he did enjoy his video gaming and helping out their father in his security. Rachel could see her little brother going after his dreams of being a US Marshal. Dillion loved crime television and had taken an interest criminal justice and had Hillard go over things that law enforcement had to do and so on. Rachel's mother Melissa and her stepfather Calvin were investing more into security business expanding their business empire. So, life was improving with time. Rachel knew that one day she would be able to put the past behind her starting with writing her book. Heidi made a little cry while she was sleeping, and Rachel went to grab the bottle in case her daughter did wake up wanting to feed.
• Jason came into her office checking on his wife and daughter and Rachel looked up, "She was dreaming."
• Jason sat down in by his wife, "You have therapy in an hour. Do you want me to go with you?"
