Chapter 18 A Wedding Ceremony In The Snake Kingdom

  • The place that the school management had decided for picnic was quite pleasing. It was surrounded by several trees. Behind the trees from both the sides were wild bushes that bore beautiful wild flowers. To the front was a big water fall. Water running down it made some noises that seemed sweet to hear. Birds flew here and there singing and dancing cheerfully, free from all sorts of grief. “Hurry up, children!” cried Mrs. Megan with a ruthless voice, stepping down from the horse-cart.
  • “Carry your belongings yourselves.” She had dressed her hair curly and let it hang over her shoulders untied. She was a lady of approximately 35 and was quite fashionable. She would change her purse every month and had keen interest in twisting children’s ears.
  • But, she was still a good and kindhearted woman. She would help the children in learning things as far as possible. Children also were fond of her, though they had to face the risk of their ears to be twisted. They would share their problems with her and were satisfied enough to have such a lovable personality as their teacher. The students hurried on her command, not to delay a second, for they knew what the result would be.
