• I did not have time to think my actions through. I scrambled to find a hiding spot in the room as I heard Jacob yelling outside. “Where did you go, wretch? Come out now!”
• The room was unlocked. It would only be a matter of time before Jacob found me. I dared not leave my spot to lock the door for fear of him spotting me. I dashed towards the balcony but halted when I caught sight of a suit drying by the balcony. I focused my eyes on the suit.
• I furrowed my brow and felt the material. It was an expensive tailor-made suit. One of the buttons looked to have been re-sewn. It hit me then. This was Lucian’s suit. I was the one who sewed the button back on for him when he accidentally knocked it off.
