• LANA’S POV
• After Nicole’s close brush with death, we checked her into rehab-with a lot of convincing-but she finally agreed. Lucas moved in with us for now and we were quite happy about it. This custody battle might become a thing of the past. There was a slight problem though, Nicole was known for ditching rehab and diving headfirst into her old habits. Who was to know if she’d last more than a week there this time around? Unfortunately, we couldn’t force her to get help, all we could do was try and get her the help she needed.
• The boys had finished their breakfast and were about to leave for school when Carter walked into the kitchen. “Good morning rascals,” he ruffled their hair, tickled them before planting a kiss on their foreheads. He was such a great dad, I loved watching him with the boys.
