Chapter 8
- Khushi:
- I was in the kitchena preparing food. I saw Rakshak coming hurried with tension from the room. He looked at me and sighed with relief. I went to him and held his hand.
- "Good morning. What happened to you? Are you okay?"
- "Yes, I am okay," Rakshak said.
- "Are you worried assuming that I left you?" I said smiling at him.
- "No, I know well you won't leave me. Because you know well what would happen if you leave me," Rakshak said.
- "You will be hurt again, if I leave you. Nothing more would happen other than that," I said.
- "Come to our room. I need to talk to you," Rakshak said and I went to the room with him.
- "Yes, please tell me," I said.
- "Shut up. Don't dare to speak before me. You are not my wife and I won't get hurt if you leave me. I told you not to utter a word before me. I think you forgot my rules," Rakshak shouted at me.
- "No sir, I am just following your order," I said acting as if I am too scared of him.
- "What?"
- "Yes, sir. I am just pretending as your wife before the maids. I am just your maid in our room," I said.
- Rakshak looked at me irritated at my sarcastic behavior and went calmly to take a shower feeling that it's better to stop the argument with me.
- I took a blue coloured suit from the wardrobe and gave it to him after the shower.
- "Sir, here is your dress. Everything is ready. You can get fresh up and have your breakfast," I said with much politeness."
- "Stop your overaction."
- "Actually if I am not a doctor, I would choose acting as my career. Now as I lost my degree as a doctor, I think I can choose acting as my second profession. What do you say?" I said.
- "Don’t you fear for me?"
- "I am scared of Rakshak but not for my husband. I respect you but you can't make me afraid of you. Anyways you are getting late to the office. I prepared the breakfast for you," I said.
- I was about to leave and Rakshak held my hand. He pulled me to him and made me look at his eyes.
- "Don’t you miss Abhi? Do you still love Abhi?" Rakshak said.
- My eyes filled with tears with his question. I tired my best to keep him happy and feel my love but still he doesn't understand me. He mistook my silence and asusual misunderstood me.
- "I understand you, Khushi. You still love Abhi," Rakshak said and threw her rudely on the bed and went off of the room. I went downstairs wiping my tears. Rakshak came downstairs.
- "Rakshak, please come to have the breakfast," I said.
- Rakshak glared at me.
- "I am not hungry," Rakshak said.
- "I made it for you. After the marriage, I cooked food for the first time," I said.
- "So what? I am not bothered and I didn’t ask you to prepare the food," Rakshak said and went to his office.
- Rakshak, you can never understand me. Though you were my best friend in the past, I rejected your love to make you understand and change for the better. But many things happened in my life which I never expected. Even now you don’t know my true feelings.
- I went to the temple for peace. While coming back, I saw the patient because of whom my doctor degree was cancelled. I thought he was killed by Rakshak to blame me. But he is alive. I called Rakshak immediately.
- "Khushi, I am busy. I will talk to you after coming to the home," Rakshak said and disconnected the call.
- I waited for him until the late night.
- "I need to talk to you," I said.
- "I am tired," Rakshak said.
- "I saw the person alive today because of whom my doctor degree got canceled," I said and Rakshak held my shoulder tightly.
- "Who permitted you to go out? Khushi, I didn’t say anything to you when you have visited your dad. But, it doesn’t mean you can do anything you want. If you don’t follow my rules, definitely I will kill your family and Abhi.
- "Kill them but first kill me."
- "Do you think I can’t kill them?"
- "Till now I thought you can’t understand me. But today I understood that I didn’t understand you."
- "You are right in understanding me. I am not as good as you think."
- "I am going to start my profession."
- "You are not allowed to go out."
- "I will start treating patients through online. I won’t go out without your permission."
- "Here is your medical degree," Rakshak said, handingovee an envelope to me.
- "Thank you," I said.
- Rakshak went for the dinner and I slept. Rakshak woke me up.
- "Why didn’t you have anything from the morning? Maid told that you that to me," Rakshak said.
- "I am not hungry," I said.
- "Are you angry at me for not having the breakfast prepared by you? Don’t behave as a kid. Come and have something," Rakshak said.
- "It's ok. I am sleepy. Good night."
- "Khushi, I am not requesting you. I don’t know to request. It's my order. Come and have food right now," Rakshak shouted at me.
- Saying this Rakshak caught my hand and brought me forcefully to the dining table.
- Rakshak turned to the maid.
- "You can go," Rakshak said.
- "Khushi, where is the food prepared by you for me?"
- "May be in the kitchen. I don’t know."
- Rakshak went to the kitchen and heated the food. He had that food with me.
- "It's not tasty. It's spoiled. I cooked it in the morning. Please leave it."
- "It's tasty. Stop worrying about me and have your food."
- I had my food and going to the room through the stairs. I was about to fall due to drowsiness and weakness. Rakshak caught me and took the room by lifting me in his arms. He dropped me on the bed and I looked at me.
- "Now, should I force you to sleep?" Rakshak said.
- I came to my senses with his shouting.
- "No need, I am already sleepy. Good night," I said and slept off.
- The next day, I was in the kitchen and Rakshak called me.
- "Khushi, you no need to do all these works. Do what you want. But, don’t act. I hate acting."
- "Don’t you love me?"
- "I don’t love you. I married you just for revenge. You can’t change me," Rakshak said.
- Even if I can't change you, my love will change you for sure.
- "Okay. Let's see," I said smiling at me.
- Rakshak was about to leave but remembered something and stopped.
- "Have food on time. I am going to have the breakfast now. But don’t prepare it from tomorrow."
- I looked at him with a smile and he went off to the office.
